Cardabilities #2!

CARDABILITIES has released their SECOND sketch challenge this morning!! WOOHOO!!  I loved working with this sketch because I am not a 'symetrical' kind of designer, I guess you could say.  What'cha think?

I used a MELJEN'S DESIGNS image called STUFFED ELEPHANT along with some papers by Die Cuts with a View to make this icky sweet baby card!  Ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and ironically the perfectly coordinated ribbon flowers are from Michael's wedding section!  I cut out the baby bottle and safety pin from other papers from this paper line.  I overlapped the aqua ribbon with silver metallic elastic twine by Stampin' UP!.
I can't wait to see what you make using this sketch!  Be sure to hook me up and link it to the Cardabilities Blog post HERE!

Enjoy your Friday!!!!!

DOUBLE POST TODAY!

Thursdays are always so exciting here at GOTTA HAVE PAPER!!!!!!!  Not only do we have new digis to see each Thursday (see previous post) but you also get to see how to get some FREEBIE DIGIS from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

Over at the PaperCraftPlanet forum {HERE} or over at the ScrapbookNews and Review forum {HERE} you will find the latest Sweet 'n Sassy Challenge posted!!  This week it is MOTHER'S DAY !  See the details on the links above at both forums!

My card above is using a sentiment from one of the digi sets you can get FREE today if you play along by midnight eastern time!  I used this 'FORGET-ME-NOT' image for my focal and used the sentiment from the 'SPECIAL LADY' set below to pull it together.  This card is inspired by this weeks sketch challenge at THE SWEET STOP SKETCH BLOG.  I love Korin's sketches and try to play along each week, it is a fabulous sketch challenge blog!!  I used papers from Die Cuts with a View, Stampin' UP! ribbon and Michael's bling.  Border punch is from Fiskars.

If you don't have time today to join the challenge, no worries, you can still earn a cute COCOA 'De-LIGHT-ful' image FREE by making a Mother's Day inspired card sometime before next Thursday's challenge is posted!!

Here's another card that I made with my Mother-In-Law in mind.  She's a bit more on the clean and simple side and doesn't like things that are too fussy!  So, I used this paper by My Mind's Eye (Out and About line), added a silky ribbon and punched out the sentiment and corner punched the corners.  FAST and easy!

Here's what you get if you tackle the challenge TODAY::

Or if you don't have time today, you will get this below if you join us before next Thursday::

I hope you hop on over to the forums to see other Mother's Day creations!  These are great ideas for cards and gifts for those moms in your life!

Enjoy your day!

NEW RELEASE & Challenge!!

Maybe you haven't heard, but EVERY Thursday is RELEASE DAY at Meljen's Designs!!  Melissa couldn't hold her excitement of sharing her digis every three weeks as originally planned, so now she is blessing us with her designs each and every THURSDAY!  AND with each New Release goes a NEW CHALLENGE!  Can you guess what this week's is by looking at my card??

Well, I am sure you can figure out by the SHAPE of my card that it has something to do with that!  CLICK HERE to go to the Design Team blog to read up on the details on how you can participate AND possibly win some FREEBIE digis of your choice!

My card is using the newly released SCUBA BEAR!!  Ain't he adorable!?  I cut my card's corner to run along the oval curve of my Scuba Bear's diecut shape by simply exacto-ing around a Spellbinder's nestibility that was slightly larger than the Bear's.  EASY PEASY!  I also made up the inside sentiment to go with him.  The scene makes him look as if he is searching for something, so I made the sentiment BELOW to go with that idea!!  Do you like it??

My daughter will probably have to take this from me to give to her Bestie, Haley!  They are the 'BESTEST' of friends, as KayLee would say!  For my card, I used some papers by My Mind's Eye Out and About line of papers, some Soft Sky (retired) Stampin' UP! ribbon and rhinestones by Kaiser Scrapbook Co.  I have a few others already designed up for your viewing pleasure, so be sure to check back to see those!

See below the rest of the adorable SEA-THEMED creatures that Melissa designed up for this week!  And CLICK HERE to go to the store to buy them individually for $3.00, or SAVE A HONKIN 30% and buy the entire collection {HERE} for $14.00!!  Now THAT is an AWESOME DEAL!

Don't forget to check out the other Designers' Creations on the Design Team Blog HERE!!  Their creations are fabulous with all the cool shapes AND uber cute digis by Meljen's Designs!!

I will be double posting today,
so COME BACK in a bit!!

CAS Arbor Day Challenge

HOWDY y'all!  Another sinus headache/migraine had me back in bed yesterday, so I am sorry for not posting another card after Eli's toothless DEBUT below!  Wasn't that cute!?  OH, and before I forget, I will post a pic of my Pepsi soon, too, I have had a few requests for her and since she's ONE now and full grown I guess she should be shown off, too!

Today is ARBOR Day and in honor of that WHIMIE DOODLES is hosting an Arbor Day Tree-Challenge over at PaperCraftPlanet {HERE}!  I used this cute owl image called OWL MY HEART from the Whimsie Doodles STORE HERE for my card.  I used this scrapbook paper by Die Cuts with a View (SongBird set) to place my owl in the tree.  I KNOW what you are thinking.... TONS of empty space, right?? WELLLLL, I am trying to simplify a few cards here and there.  Not everyone loves layers upon layers as I do, so feel maybe I will try to incorporate some more CAS (clean and simple) cards for those followers who like this style!

This card could almost be considered appropriate for the Picture Perfect Creations challenge this week.  My green is a bit darker than the CELERY they are requesting us to use, but still, it's close!  To see more info about this challenge CLICK HERE!

I hope you join us over at PaperCraftPlanet this week!

Enjoy your day!

toothless eli

Just had to share my toothless son.  Eli just turned 8 and finally lost both of his upper middle teeth a couple weeks ago, so thought I would share this until my card gets posted later.  Have to take pics yet!

Gotta get the kids up for school!  Back in a bit!

ENJOY!

Remember Raggedy Ann!?

Doesn't this image by Meljen's Designs remind you of Raggedy Ann??  I LOVED Raggedy Ann and Andy as a child, so as soon as I found out I was having a girl, I made sure I looked for these dolls for her room!  She has two sets of them AND they are handmade, so they are very special to us!  Check out MELJEN'S DESIGNS boy and girl dolls and other new digis {HERE} that were just released on Thursday, they are too cute!

Today's card is inspired by this week's color challenge at PICTURE PERFECT CREATIONS!  Challenge #10 is AWESOME!  I think I am going to leave out these colors for my next card, too!  LOVE the boldness of the red and yellow and the compliments of the celery and blue, too!  Beautiful!!

I also was inspired by this sketch below by STAMPING 411 challenge blog!  I have known of this sketch blog for awhile and HAD (NOTICE the PAST-TENSE!) this in my Challenge Blog BLOG ROLL, but I lost it when I switched my blog url back in February.  However, a new follower SELENE brought me to it!  AND I just love her CARD HERE, it is so crisp and clean and to see Christmas again was actually refreshing!!!  So, leave her a HELLO and check out her beautiful first Christmas card of the year, if you have time AND join in on the sketch, too!!

ENJOY YOUR MONDAY!!!

Rainbow Kitty!

The Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays challenge blog has posted their newest challenge!!!!!!  This one was easy for me!  This week's challenge is Buttons, Bows and BLING!  Well, HELLO!?  Have you seen my cards! HAHAHA!  They are covered in bling and bows!  Buttons, not so often, but I think it is because they aren't out in plain view and I forget to use them!  But I was happy to learn that this challenge was typical of my style!!

My card is using TWO Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps images that I merged together!  I used the Rainbow Scene {HERE} and the Purrfect Friend {HERE} for my card!  I used some Kaiser Scrapbook BLING, some Very Vanilla ribbon by Stampin' UP! and clear buttons backed with punched out flowers using a Stampin' UP! punch.  I also used this week's Unscripted Sketches design for composition inspiration!

This week over at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Paper Craft Planet group, there's a new challenge!  This week we are to use Green and Purple!  So I knew right away I wanted to use these papers by My Mind's Eye!  The lilac lavender color is really pretty and the patterns are great, too!  Check out the challenge HERE and the prize you will earn by playing along!!

AND SPEAKING OF PRIZES..... if you join in on the Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays challenge HERE, you could win this week's prize of FIVE FREE DIGIS from SEW MANY DIGITAL STAMPS!  So, why don't you play along!?

Have a great Saturday!

SO CUTE!

Good Afternoooooon!  I am so sorry for this late posting!!  I won't go into WHY this is so late, trust me, you don't want to know! HA!  But, my migraine and allergies are better now so I finally got the mojo to get back to the craft room today.  My card is featuring a cutie patootie image by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called MILTON READING that you can find HERE in the SNSS store!
I based my card on this week's Card Positioning Systems sketch above along with some My Mind's Eye papers and Prima Flowers.  I got the cream pearl dots from Hobby Lobby, I think they are their store brand.

Don't forget to check out all of the new Digis at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps store!  Korin just added some really cute images; I can't wait to get to those!  OH, and be sure you come back tomorrow for another card based on the Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays challenge!!  It's a really pretty one!

Enjoy your evening!

ANOTHER DEBUT!!!!

It's HAPPENED!!!

The HUGE DEBUT
of

AND

the next MELJEN Challenge has been posted, too!!!

Using Meljen's Designs TeaCup Mouse image HERE, and the Cardabilities sketch #1 BELOW, I pulled this gorgeous card together!  This card is a favorite of mine of late!  I LOVE IT!  This week's challenge at MELJEN'S DESIGNS is to use a 3-D element.  Well, I guess mine is more 2-D, but with all of the stitching, texture, bling, pop-dotting, I thought this qualified for the challenge!!!  Be sure to join in on the 3-D challenge HERE!  And when you are done, take some time to yourself and go shopping for some new Meljen's Designs Digis HERE!

HOP on over to the Cardabilities blog to see all of the gorgeous creations from the Design Team based on the sketch above!  You will be impressed, I know I am!  ANDDDD, I nearly forgot!  Share with us your take on the FIRST EVAH Cardabilities Sketch HERE!  We'd love to have you join us!

I've been tagged!

One of my design team owners, KARAN, tagged me!  She's such a great gal and although I have only known her briefly, I have found Karan to be such a wonderful, understanding AND FUN person!  SO, thanks Karan, for tagging me!

I am supposed to share 10 things that make me happy, 5 about-me trivia and then pass this along to five bloggers that I love!  SO, here goes!

Things that make me happy!!!!! NOTE: Of course there are my kids (but they make me upset, too) and the hubby, (who also upsets me now and then) and family/friends, too.  But since these are things that don't 100% make me happy ALL THE TIME, let's focus on the things that DO!

1. The feeling of accomplishment.  Whether it be creating a new card, a new meal, or even seaming in a pair of shorts so they fit my daughter's itty bitty waist better, that feeling of doing something and doing it well feels good!  I don't work outside the home anymore, so that feeling of making the boss proud has no place in my life now, so I have replaced it with making myself feel proud of the little things I do for my family!

2. Art Supplies!  I don't know why, but even when I was little and began my love for art, art supplies have always been on my list of things that make me feel good inside!  Maybe it is because they make me feel like the creative-possibilities are limitless!  Sounds silly, I guess, but there's something to be said about having tools and supplies that help bring out a part of you to share with others with a paper or in a gift!

3. Seeing my children take an interest in art!  Besides Josh, Eli, KayLee and Isaac all have a love for the arts!  KayLee loves making things (especially cards and bookmarks, imagine that!) with my spare papers and scrap embellies, my son Eli loves to draw creatures and animals and scenes and my son Isaac loves to scribble and write words all over the place telling what he has drawn.  SO FUN!  Reminds me of myself when I was little!  OH, and KayLee LOVES it when she gets new art supplies from me, too! Like Mother, Like Daughter!

4. Facebook!  Seriously, if you aren't on facebook, you won't get it.  But I am so happy I joined it.  I now talk to my cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, sister-in-law/brother-in-law, etc,. that I normally wouldn't get to speak to often because we are hundreds of miles apart!  So facebook keeps me in the "KNOW" and keeps me close to those I didn't get to know growing up!

5. Farmville on Facebook! All I have to say is that I am addicted, but not for long.  First step to recovery is admitting the problem, right?  If you don't know, Farmville is a game.... a type of 'if you had a real farm, this is what you would make it look like' game.  You go up 'levels' according to how well you farm, take care of your animals, profit from your crops, etc.  Well, I am on Level 69 and the top level, so I hear, is 70.  So, I think once I hit 70 I will quit.  Then again, maybe I will just start all over!!! LOL!

6. My Blogs!  I always feel good when I post something on my blogs.  I feel somewhat like I am contributing to BLOGLAND! LOL!  It is great to share something, hoping that you touch someone and actually make a difference to them.  And the bonus for me is when I have feedback, whether it is good OR bad!  Just knowing that there are other gals out there with my same interests is neat to me.  Do I need to get out more, or what?

7. My Laptop!  Such a trusty little companion that keeps me connected to FACEBOOK, ORDERING ART SUPPLIES, FARMVILLE, SHARING MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS ON MY BLOGS, my laptop is awesome!  HAHA, I guess I SHOULD categorize this one with the hubby and kids because it upsets me too! LOL!  But really, all in all, it's a good thing!

8. A Good Nap!  MAN, I know I am old because I am enjoying those naps like my Poppy used to do in his recliner down in Florida when he retired!  HA!  But, there's really nothing like a quick 30 minute nap!  Well, except when it turns into a three-hour one on a Sunday afternoon! HA!

9. Coffee, Chocolate and Raspberry anything!  If you have known me for any given length of time, you would know that Chocolate Raspberry truffles with a Chocolate Mocha Raspberry Coffee will put me in an AWESOME mood for three days!  There's nothing that those three things can't fix in my opinion!

10. Other artists!  WOW, such inspiration I get everyday from my friends who are digi-illustrators, Melyssa, Melissa, Korin, Rachel Zimmerman and other favorites like Mo Manning and Phindy, too!  I wish I could illustrate like them, they are UBER TALENTED!  I just can't draw like that and have no intention on trying to learn.  That is just an artform that I think you have or don't.  AND I DO NOT! HAHAAA!  I also love and admire other artists, too, Marianne Walker (COPIC-extraordinaire), Shannan Tuebner, Kelly Landers, Kelli Caslow, Denise Marzec, Sheri Gilson, Alicia Ekermans, Carolyn King, Kathleen Paneitz, Sherry Wright, Nancy Brown, Lisa Hjulberg, Lisa Jurecek, the list goes on!  These are just some of the ladies that amaze me!  And I meet more every day when gals visit and comment on my blog, too, SO THANKS!!

As for FIVE TRIVIA about me!!!!!!!

1. I wear one contact in my left eye!  Ok, that's a bit boring, let's see if I can do better..... I have always had short hair except for one time in my life and that is when I started to date my hubby.  Then to find out that he preferred short hair on women, so I cut it off by our wedding 10 months later!! YEA!  Ok, still boring?  I earned State and National awards in Art when I lived in Virginia years ago.  That's better!

{MAN, this is hard!  I am a pretty boring person!}

2. I have moved 21 times in my life and I am just 39 years old!  No, I am not an Army brat, dad just switched jobs for better ones every few years....

3. If I could have any car it would be a lamborghini, okay realistically a WHITE Toyota Tacoma with pink detailing and pink shock absorbers, etc., well, that was my wish 20 years ago!  Now I would just be happy with a Toyota Highlander or Sienna!  MAN, I am a MOM, or what, huh?!

4. My first car was a 69 corvette convertible stingray.  Except my dad never got it fixed up for me to ever use, he sold it when we moved to a new city.  So, then I got a 1978 MGB convertible that was PEAGREEN!  Thank goodness my dad used to paint cars while in college!  He painted it candy apple red!  Then some mean kids at my school took a baseball bat to it and pounded in some mean dents.  Daddy fixed it up and painted it perfect again!  SO THERE!! Then I had a 1979 Datsun/Nissan 280ZX, then a Nissan Maxima with an awesome sound system!!!!!!!!!!!!  Am I showing my years?

5.I was bit by a Doberman Pinscher when I was 3 years old or so.  The dog bit really close to my eye, so close I almost lost it!  The surgeon performed plastic surgery using a microscope on my eye with over 300 stitches in an area less than 2" long!

For the FIVE bloggers I am tagging... well, there are well over a dozen listed throughout (above) with links to their blogs!  TRY THEM!  You will be so glad you checked out these awesome ladies!  Their artistry is amazing!!

THANKS FOR HANGING IN HERE WITH ME, if you are still here!!!!!!  Please feel free to SNAG this for your blog!  It is a great way to learn more about your friends and favorite bloggers!

Enjoy your evening!

PPC #8 and a Happy Birthday WISH!

HAPPY MONDAY, Everyone!!!!

AND

A HAPPY 8th BIRTHDAY
TO
MY ELI!!!!!

I probably should have used LESS PINK and quite possibly CUPCAKE TURTLE today instead of this cute THANKFUL TURTLE by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, but I just loved this image and still could give it to Eli today for his birthday!  He's such a super kid and takes everything all in stride.  You see, he's just 3' 10" and 42 lbs or so, quite small for his 8 year age (actually, the smallest in his grade).  But, I am thankful to him for the fact that he doesn't let kids teasing bother him.  He KNOWS he is powerful, eventhough he is a bit smaller than the rest!  HE IS AN AWESOME BOY!!

This is Eli on the right with his tooth barely hanging in there at top! LOL!  KayLee will be 7 on Mother's Day and Isaac just turned five last Wednesday... I guess you can see I have little kids, but aren't they the cutest??

I used this week's COLOR CHALLENGE at Picture Perfect Creations AND this week's Sketch Challenge from the SWEET STOP Sketch Blog {HERE} for my card today!!  WOW, what a shocker of a card, am I right?? That Melon Mambo IS eye-catching!! LOVE IT!  If you play along with this color challenge HERE, you will be entered to win this week's prize, as follows:

12 - 6x6 Raspberry Tart DSP (double-sided, SU Retired)

10 - 6x6 Sheets of Real Red,
Rose Red,

Pretty in Pink,
Kiwi Kiss (SU Retired) (2 of each color)

1 yard - 3/8" Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon (SU Retired)

1 yard - 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon

HOP on over to see all of the GORGEOUS creations that the BRAND NEW design team whipped up for your inspiration at the Picture Perfect Creations Challenge BLOG, you will just want to run to your craft space and join in on the challenge, I AM SURE!!!
