Feeling KRAFTY?

Well, I survived!  YEP, I took my youngest (AND LAST!!! NOPE, not having any more kids for sure!) to kindergarten yesterday!  Thought I would lose it like the Mom at the door hanging all over Grandma who was crying, "MY baby, my BABY!!"  LOL!  It was hilarious!  I felt for her, I did!  But, guess I am a little hardened to it since this was the fourth time sending a kid off to his/her first day of school!  Still sad, but I know how much Isaac has been wanting to go to school.   Plus if he wasn't such a little brain, teaching himself to read when he was just three years old, I would probably worry, but he's gonna do super!

OK, so I know you really are here for the crafty-bit, right?  Well, have no fear, a new challenge is here!  This week's challenge from Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays is so easy that if you don't play along you are really missing the ticket on an easy entry into a fabulous prize by Sassy Studio Designs!!

SSDS Sketch Challenge: Win WHIMSY!!

Here's my card for today's Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays challenge (PLAY ALONG!! you could win any stamps from WHIMSY STAMPS, including Melissa's images from her line "MELJEN'S Designs", which is what I used here on my card!!)  It's a sketch challenge!  I would love to see you all use this sketch from SSDS, it's a good one!!

OH, AND this is my first attempt at Prisma pencil colors with gamsol, etc.  It made it look soft and sloppy a little, a different texture for me, not COPIC!  I KNOW SHOCK SHOCK!!  Papers are by Die Cuts with a View, the Amber Autumn Fall Collections stack!

I'm gonna give this card to my Isaac's kindergarten teacher on Friday when he heads to school for his first day!!!!! Clean and Simple with Amber Ink.!!

What'cha doing this Saturday?  UP for another SIMPLE challenge?? How about a Clean and Simple one??  YEP, this one is brought to you by Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays!! 

For my Clean and Simple (YET WAYYYYYY STYLISH) card, I used some images by Amber Ink.!!  The sentiment and gift with a bow are available in the set called 'Your the Perfect Package' that you can see HERE over at Amber Ink.!!  I used just two colors (not including the black outline of the gift itself) of royal blue and white to make this one as clean as possible!  At first I had a bow tied up at the top, but it was too fussy, so I took it off and added some rhinestones in the corner.  I think it looks just great, what'cha think??

Use a DIGI-stamp! Or Two, Or Three....

Happy SATURDAY!  What's better than crafting with a digi-stamp?  Crafting with NUMEROUS digi-stamps!  This week over at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays your challenge is to USE a DIGI!! Easy peasy!  IF you have NEVER used a digi, then you are missing out!

For my card above, I used images by Meljen's Designs!!  I used 'Brooke at the Beach', 'Cutie Crab' and the new 'Sail Away' digi that can all be seen in the Meljen's STORE HERE!  What I LOVE LOVE LOVE about digis besides the fact that they don't take up room on my shelves in my craft-room (they stay on your computer!) is how you can manipulate them in size, shape and color and make little scenes like this one above!  I just inserted these images into Microsoft Word, did some shrinking, enlarging, overlapping and VIOLA!

I used papers by Stampin' UP! to mimic the sand, surf and sky in my scene.  Copics to color, a little dab of pearls for fun and nestibilities and oval punches for the sentiment, not too bad, EH?  GO HERE to upload your 'DIGI-challenge' to be entered for the chance to win FOUR digis of your choice from the Meljen's STORE!  That's right, Meljen's Designs is sponsoring Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays again, so you could just win freebie images from Melissa!

Sentiment Only Card and a SAD Good-bye!

Happy Anniversary to ME!  I know that is a bit self-serving (sorry!!), but I wanted to draw your attention to these beautiful sentiments in the Wedding Sentiments digi set HERE!  This is the anniversary card (could be a wedding card, too!) that I made my hubby for our 9th Anniversary coming up on July 4th.  I plan to give it to him early on our first 'vacation ever together ALONE' this week!  We are vacationing in Chicago, taking in all of the museums and sites!  I looooove Chicago about as much as I loooooove this digi set that is just full of beautiful 'love' sentiments perfect for wedding and anniversary occasions!  So, be sure to check it out!

On a sad note, this is my last post as a designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  I have decided to bow out gracefully to focus my attention on re-prioritizing my daily routine to have more time to include homemade meals, making fresh bread, taking better care of the house and enjoying my youngest child's last year at home before being in school fulltime in the fall of 2011.  They grow up so fast, so after giving it much thought, I have decided to slow down and really SEE and appreciate each and every moment I have left with my kiddos!

I want to thank Korin for this wonderful opportunity of being on the SNSS Design Team for the past 10 months beginning with my Guest Designing last September; it seems just like yesterday!  I will miss the entire SNSS team and the closeness we share every day.  Be sure to put Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps in your favorites and visit their BLOG every day for beautiful creations and lovely inspiration by the uber talented designers!!

Geisha!

HAPPY SATURDAYYY!!! 

Ok, seriously, is it almost the end of JUNE???? What is happening!??  These days just go by faster and faster as you get older, don't they!? 

I finally was able to color up this beautiful digi that has been sitting on my desk since forever!  I just love this WhimsieDoodles' Geisha Miyako Tea {see it HERE in the store} girl, she's lovely.  I love oriental anything, from decor to digis, the Asian influence is just beautiful!  I used Basic Grey papers, some chunky cherry blossom embellishments that I found at Walmart along with a new stamp sentiment from Stampin' Up! for this Thank You note. 

My daughter is going to send it to her BFF to say thanks for her birthday presents (a jewelry box and stuffed doggie she now sleeps with every night!)!!  KayLee loved this card, maybe she will appreciate asian influenced decor, too!  I have a busy busy busy week ahead, so I BETTER GIT GOIN'!

DEBUT DAY and a CHALLENGE

It's my LAST debut day at Whimsie Doodles!  Yes, as they say, all good things must come to an end, and it has, well almost!  I will be on the Whimsie Doodles team till the end of June, and although I will be showing you creations using Whimsie Doodles images, it still means that today's release is my last to promote for WD!  AW, so sad!!

Above you will see my card using Missy's THERAPY image from Whimsie Doodles. com along with some awesome handmade stars that I whipped up for this week's challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays!  Yep, this week, we had to MAKE our own embellies!  Well, mine isn't necessarily home-made exactly.... they are recycled, I guess.  I found these starts in one of my daughter's coloring/design books HERE and thought they would be perfect to color and fold and put into place with this image!  I simply colored them in and popdotted the center of the stars for dimension! EASY PEASY!  The papers are by GLITZ Design, who is as this week's sponsor at SSDS!  They are offering up a prize this week if you play along!

Red, White and Blue!

WOW, was this a crazy week or what!??? OH MY GOSH, it went so fast!  Summer is upon us, thank goodness, and with this week's challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays, I decided to make a summery fresh looking card!  This week's challenge is a COLOR challenge to use RED, WHITE and BLUE!  I didn't take it quite so literal and used aqua, light red and cream!

KayLee UPDATE

Not sure if you heard (or read yesterday's post) but KayLee broke her arm at school on SILLY HAIR DAY!  Here's what she looked like before she left for school, then here's the way she looked yesterday after getting some vampire teeth at the doctor's office for a check up!  AND of course, Isaac went along and helped himself to the treasure chest, too! LOL!  She's doing well, yet still very swollen and on good medication with codeine; I think I need some of that!! 

She's gonna be fine, but required ALL of my attention yesterday.  SO, I didn't have a chance to get my creation ready for this week's Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturday CHALLENGE HERE!  Be sure to check it out and play along, there's a great prize to be won!!  Hugs and Thanks to all who have prayed for KayLee!  We all appreciate it!!

An EASEL Card!

This week's challenge at STAMP, SCRAP and DOODLE SATURDAYS is to make an easel card!!  This is so easy peasy, I can't believe I hadn't tried it before.  This style of card has been plastered all over blogs and forums, but to be honest, I figured it would be too difficult or time consuming to me.  WOW, was I ever wrong!  To see an awesome tutorial on this awesome technique CLICK HERE!

If you are a fan of DigiStampCharacters you will love this challenge and want to play along for sure!  You could just win THREE digis of your choice out of their etsy store {HERE}!

For my card, I used some papers by DieCuts with a View which have a silver metallic sheen in places!  I figured they were perfect for this image since it had a crown I could stickle with silver!!  The bashful blue ribbon and brushed silver paper are from by Stampin' UP!

I hope try making an easel card!  It makes a real impact and is a cool card to send, as your recipient will want to display it for a long time!!

Rainbow Kitty!

The Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays challenge blog has posted their newest challenge!!!!!!  This one was easy for me!  This week's challenge is Buttons, Bows and BLING!  Well, HELLO!?  Have you seen my cards! HAHAHA!  They are covered in bling and bows!  Buttons, not so often, but I think it is because they aren't out in plain view and I forget to use them!  But I was happy to learn that this challenge was typical of my style!!

My card is using TWO Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps images that I merged together!  I used the Rainbow Scene {HERE} and the Purrfect Friend {HERE} for my card!  I used some Kaiser Scrapbook BLING, some Very Vanilla ribbon by Stampin' UP! and clear buttons backed with punched out flowers using a Stampin' UP! punch.  I also used this week's Unscripted Sketches design for composition inspiration!

This week over at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Paper Craft Planet group, there's a new challenge!  This week we are to use Green and Purple!  So I knew right away I wanted to use these papers by My Mind's Eye!  The lilac lavender color is really pretty and the patterns are great, too!  Check out the challenge HERE and the prize you will earn by playing along!!

What's he reading????

HAPPY SATURDAY!!!!!!  Can you believe that March is almost wrapped up!?  GOSH!  At least it is feeling more like SPRING instead of winter!  I don't know about you, but I am happy to see stamps and papers that look warm and springy with flowers and critters!! Those snowmen were getting to me!  I actually started thinking that one had come alive on my desk a few weeks ago! LOL!!!!!  JUST KIDDING!

I am excited to post today's card because this is my first EVAH Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays challenge card!  This week's challenge is a sketch Challenge:::

  

 This sketch had me stumped with those triple lines and something in EVERY corner.  I am not a very symetrical person, so this was... well... A CHALLENGE!  {Probably why they call it that, huh?!! LOL!!}  My card is using papers by Basic Grey, flowers by Prima, rhinestones from Michael's and a LOVELY image called MUSHROOM MOUSE by MELJEN DESIGNS that you can purchase {HERE} in Melissa's store... Doesn't it make you wonder what he is reading!?  He looks kinda excited! HEEHEE!
