I have always loved monochromatic cards like this one here. All muted and soft, but with just a SPOT of color (in blue and red) that really offsets the card and really showcases what you want the card to 'say' to the recipient. I really wanted the owl to stand out, so I surrounded it in a sky blue color and used bright colors in the flag, too, because I certainly didn't want that flag to get lost, even though it is so small!
I used my nestibilities circle and scallop circle and stamped squares on the plain green moss paper to give it some texture. An assortment of brads in coordinating colors pulls it all together and really keeps to the SHEETLOAD of CARDS sketch in the September issue. If you haven't downloaded your free issue yet, then be sure to go do so! Oh, the papers are by Basic Grey (available at Precious Scraps), for a full supplies list download your free issue at SHEETLOAD of CARDS!
