I am supposed to share 10 things that make me happy, 5 about-me trivia and then pass this along to five bloggers that I love! SO, here goes!
Things that make me happy!!!!! NOTE: Of course there are my kids (but they make me upset, too) and the hubby, (who also upsets me now and then) and family/friends, too. But since these are things that don't 100% make me happy ALL THE TIME, let's focus on the things that DO!
1. The feeling of accomplishment. Whether it be creating a new card, a new meal, or even seaming in a pair of shorts so they fit my daughter's itty bitty waist better, that feeling of doing something and doing it well feels good! I don't work outside the home anymore, so that feeling of making the boss proud has no place in my life now, so I have replaced it with making myself feel proud of the little things I do for my family!
2. Art Supplies! I don't know why, but even when I was little and began my love for art, art supplies have always been on my list of things that make me feel good inside! Maybe it is because they make me feel like the creative-possibilities are limitless! Sounds silly, I guess, but there's something to be said about having tools and supplies that help bring out a part of you to share with others with a paper or in a gift!
3. Seeing my children take an interest in art! Besides Josh, Eli, KayLee and Isaac all have a love for the arts! KayLee loves making things (especially cards and bookmarks, imagine that!) with my spare papers and scrap embellies, my son Eli loves to draw creatures and animals and scenes and my son Isaac loves to scribble and write words all over the place telling what he has drawn. SO FUN! Reminds me of myself when I was little! OH, and KayLee LOVES it when she gets new art supplies from me, too! Like Mother, Like Daughter!
4. Facebook! Seriously, if you aren't on facebook, you won't get it. But I am so happy I joined it. I now talk to my cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, sister-in-law/brother-in-law, etc,. that I normally wouldn't get to speak to often because we are hundreds of miles apart! So facebook keeps me in the "KNOW" and keeps me close to those I didn't get to know growing up!
5. Farmville on Facebook! All I have to say is that I am addicted, but not for long. First step to recovery is admitting the problem, right? If you don't know, Farmville is a game.... a type of 'if you had a real farm, this is what you would make it look like' game. You go up 'levels' according to how well you farm, take care of your animals, profit from your crops, etc. Well, I am on Level 69 and the top level, so I hear, is 70. So, I think once I hit 70 I will quit. Then again, maybe I will just start all over!!! LOL!
6. My Blogs! I always feel good when I post something on my blogs. I feel somewhat like I am contributing to BLOGLAND! LOL! It is great to share something, hoping that you touch someone and actually make a difference to them. And the bonus for me is when I have feedback, whether it is good OR bad! Just knowing that there are other gals out there with my same interests is neat to me. Do I need to get out more, or what?
7. My Laptop! Such a trusty little companion that keeps me connected to FACEBOOK, ORDERING ART SUPPLIES, FARMVILLE, SHARING MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS ON MY BLOGS, my laptop is awesome! HAHA, I guess I SHOULD categorize this one with the hubby and kids because it upsets me too! LOL! But really, all in all, it's a good thing!
8. A Good Nap! MAN, I know I am old because I am enjoying those naps like my Poppy used to do in his recliner down in Florida when he retired! HA! But, there's really nothing like a quick 30 minute nap! Well, except when it turns into a three-hour one on a Sunday afternoon! HA!
9. Coffee, Chocolate and Raspberry anything! If you have known me for any given length of time, you would know that Chocolate Raspberry truffles with a Chocolate Mocha Raspberry Coffee will put me in an AWESOME mood for three days! There's nothing that those three things can't fix in my opinion!
10. Other artists! WOW, such inspiration I get everyday from my friends who are digi-illustrators, Melyssa, Melissa, Korin, Rachel Zimmerman and other favorites like Mo Manning and Phindy, too! I wish I could illustrate like them, they are UBER TALENTED! I just can't draw like that and have no intention on trying to learn. That is just an artform that I think you have or don't. AND I DO NOT! HAHAAA! I also love and admire other artists, too, Marianne Walker (COPIC-extraordinaire), Shannan Tuebner, Kelly Landers, Kelli Caslow, Denise Marzec, Sheri Gilson, Alicia Ekermans, Carolyn King, Kathleen Paneitz, Sherry Wright, Nancy Brown, Lisa Hjulberg, Lisa Jurecek, the list goes on! These are just some of the ladies that amaze me! And I meet more every day when gals visit and comment on my blog, too, SO THANKS!!
As for FIVE TRIVIA about me!!!!!!!
1. I wear one contact in my left eye! Ok, that's a bit boring, let's see if I can do better..... I have always had short hair except for one time in my life and that is when I started to date my hubby. Then to find out that he preferred short hair on women, so I cut it off by our wedding 10 months later!! YEA! Ok, still boring? I earned State and National awards in Art when I lived in Virginia years ago. That's better!
{MAN, this is hard! I am a pretty boring person!}
2. I have moved 21 times in my life and I am just 39 years old! No, I am not an Army brat, dad just switched jobs for better ones every few years....
3. If I could have any car it would be a lamborghini, okay realistically a WHITE Toyota Tacoma with pink detailing and pink shock absorbers, etc., well, that was my wish 20 years ago! Now I would just be happy with a Toyota Highlander or Sienna! MAN, I am a MOM, or what, huh?!
4. My first car was a 69 corvette convertible stingray. Except my dad never got it fixed up for me to ever use, he sold it when we moved to a new city. So, then I got a 1978 MGB convertible that was PEAGREEN! Thank goodness my dad used to paint cars while in college! He painted it candy apple red! Then some mean kids at my school took a baseball bat to it and pounded in some mean dents. Daddy fixed it up and painted it perfect again! SO THERE!! Then I had a 1979 Datsun/Nissan 280ZX, then a Nissan Maxima with an awesome sound system!!!!!!!!!!!! Am I showing my years?
5.I was bit by a Doberman Pinscher when I was 3 years old or so. The dog bit really close to my eye, so close I almost lost it! The surgeon performed plastic surgery using a microscope on my eye with over 300 stitches in an area less than 2" long!
For the FIVE bloggers I am tagging... well, there are well over a dozen listed throughout (above) with links to their blogs! TRY THEM! You will be so glad you checked out these awesome ladies! Their artistry is amazing!!
THANKS FOR HANGING IN HERE WITH ME, if you are still here!!!!!! Please feel free to SNAG this for your blog! It is a great way to learn more about your friends and favorite bloggers!
Enjoy your evening!

Awwwww, I can't believe you included me as one of your favorite artists! I feel like such a wannabe! You have made my day, Nicole... no doubt about it! And you know I'm a huge fan of your art and you!!!
I enjoyed learning more about you from your post. We have several things in common. I still get giddy over a box of fresh crayons, and we have a Toyota Highlander (and had a Sienna before that). I can't live without chocolate and coffee. I have four kids. And I am a big NAPPER! Pure luxury! I tell myself to stop, that I'm wasting time, but I can't help myself. It's ingrained in me!
Anyway, thanks for the tag! I'll try to get a post up this week.
Hugs and smiles and many thanks!
Lisa
