Meljen's Designs ANNIVERSARY BLOG HOP!!

Happy 2nd Anniversary to my dear friend, Melissa Jenkins, owner and illustrator of Meljen's Designs!!   I have become very good friends with Melissa over the last couple of years and feel so blessed to have her in my life!!  I am so proud of her and her artistic achievements with Meljen's Designs, she's a real inspiration and she has shown me what you can do if you follow your passion!

My first card is for YOU, my readers and Melissa's fans!  I just want to remind you to delight in the day today and EVERY DAY!  The days DO go by faster and faster as you get older.  My momma told me that when I was little, but little did I understand until recently when my youngest entered school fulltime and I soon saw an empty home from 8am to 3pm, five days a week!  It's quite lonely without my kiddos around, so thank goodness summer is quickly approaching, right?? 

For this one, I used the Pre-colored Little Light Bulb!  I used the same layout in each card, showing how with the change of color and different image, the same layout can take on a variety of feelings....

This card is in honor of Jess, one of Meljen's Designers who couldn't hop with us today.  She's had a bit of illness take over the family, so Jess, we hope everyone gets better soon!  This one uses Pre-colored Sick Little Bear, a popular image of Melissa's....

This card was made in honor of another Meljen's Designs designer who couldn't hop with us today, too.  Lisa lost her dear doggie-friend on Saturday to cancer.  We are thinking of you, Lisa!  This one uses Pre-colored Teddy Angel....

And this one is for Melissa, in celebration of Meljen's Designs turning TWO today!!  This one uses Pre-colored Birthday Cupcake, it's just perfect for any occasion!  Including a SALE!

This past 12 months has been a whirlwind for Melissa Jenkins!  She debuted last April 1st with her Meljen's Designs line of stamps (digital AND rubber, too!) and grew by leaps and bounds!!!!  I have been blessed to have worked alongside Melissa and watch her company grow and I feel so blessed for that.  Melissa is a true artist and inspiration to me and above all of that, she's one of my best friends! 

We are celebrating our anniversary today with a BLOG HOP! You should have come here from Melissa Andrew's blog, but if not, you can start at the beginning at Anita's blog here!  To be eligible for the prizes, you need to leave everyone some love on the hop, and if you wouldn't mind sharing which Meljen's Designs image is your favorite, I would love to know!  Or comment and share an image you would like to see made into a digi!  That'd be cool, too!

Here's my super cute creation, using the Cuddle Bun Buddies image and the sketch by The Sweet Stop Sketch Blog.  I used my Prismacolor Pencils and gamsol for blending to color these cuties up and I also used Imaginisce papers, crystal embellies by Kaisercraft, paperflower by Prima and ribbon by Prairie Bird Boutique to pull it together! (the twisted ribbon rose was a gift, not sure where you can purchase that, sorry!)

Here's HOW I FEEL, uh... my 'Miss You' challenge card using the 'Hang In There' digi stamp!  I am really sad to have to leave my Whimsie Doodles team.  I found the most wonderful ladies on this team a year ago and it will be so hard to not hear from them every day!  So, I will POUT WITH PRIDE as I gracefully bow from of my Doodlelicious role at Whimsie Doodles!  But never fear!  I KNOW how to stalk blogs, so I am sure I will not be a stranger to my fellow original WD team!  Blessings to you all in whatever your future holds!

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE digital stamps, but there are some awesome techniques you can do with inked images!  And I nearly forgot what that INK smelled like!  yummmmmm!

Here's my creation using the newly release CLEAR STAMP SET WOOF YOU!!!!!!!!  Isn't this doggie just the cutest in his little ol' bandana!? AWWW!  I used Brilliance Coffee Bean Brown to stamp the doggie and sentiment and then colored them using Copics!  I made up this sketch as I went along!  I do like how it turned out!!  Papers are by My Mind's Eye.

Crafting With Deedee's Digis

Here's a collection of my cards using some of Deedee's images!  This first card is a new one using 'Little Things', which includes the sentiment, too!  I used some Die Cuts with a View papers to create a scene to highlight Deedee's bear!  So cute, I love how this turned out!  I entered this into the CardPatterrns Sketch challenge this week, too!!

The next four cards are some cards I created last fall and winter and are still some of the ones I still hoard today, except for one that I sent TO DEEDEE! LOL!  This one is using Deedee's 'Pick of the Harvest' digi!  Coloring the leaves is so fun!

This gingerbread house is part of 'Gingerbread Holidays' which is a set of this house, a gingerbread COUPLE and some sentiments, too!

This cutie patootie bear is from the 'Leave Me Smiling' set which also includes four sentiments (ALL for just $3.00)!!  Doesn't he look like he's getting ready for a long winter's nap!?? HEEHEE!

And finally, here's one of my absolute favorite images by Deedee because of the scene it creates!  'Noses 4 Sale' is just uber cute and will surely bring a spark to anyone receiving a card using this image!!

Before I give you MORE EXCITING NEWS, let me share my card with you!  Using the newly released Meljen's Designs 'Daisy Dance Unicorn' {JUST $3.00!!},  I used some papers by Basic Grey to make this fun and whimsical card!  A bit of bling, a pinch of Prima, all tied together with some ribbon, this is surely a perfect card for someone who enjoys fantastical images!

I cut the card front 3/8" shy to expose a little inside detailing as shown below... like I have always said, LOVE is in the DETAILS, you know!  And I used Copics to color the image! The Copics I used to color the image are shown at the end of this post.
