The BEST BIRTHDAY EVAH with pictures!

Seriously, I just had the best birthday EVER and would just love to share it with you if you can tolerate a lot of jibber jabber!!!!!!!!  AND PLEASE, when you are done reading this entirely too long post, that you share your favorite birthday with me!!  I would love to hear it!

My hubby surprised me by taking the day off of work today and he even arranged a babysitter for our youngest, so we could spend the day together ALONE!  Maybe I should first clarify that we never ever ever spend time alone.  We live in a town where neither one of us has ANY family whatsoever.  I mean, like, NOT ONE.  So, we can't just drop the kids off at 'grandma's' and have a date night, you know what I mean?  And, we are both too tight to spend money on a babysitter to get some time alone.  But, after today, I think we might do it once a month, or every other month!  Because I honestly can not tell you how many times today that I have said, "This is the BEST BIRTHDAY EVAH!" and I am sure it has a lot to do with just being able to spend time alone and enjoy each other's company!!!!

Wanna hear how the day has gone so far???

Let me first tell you that he let me sleep in!  YEP, he did kid/school duty!  That is not fun and not an easy task, let me tell ya.  Did I mention that we have ONE bathroom and three kids still at home?  7, 6, 4... and ONE bathroom, need I say more?  Besides KayLee not getting her teeth brushed, it went off without a hitch!
Scott took them to school, took Isaac to the babysitter and then took me away to Evansville, which is about an hour away.  First we hit Hobby Lobby!  I got tons of scrapbook papers by My Mind's Eye, some glitter brads, two embossing folders and two Copic markers!  {I didn't think it could get better!}  WELL, I was wrong!  He then took me to Dick Blick Art Supply!  I got 9, YES NINE, more Copics!!  WOOHOO!  I think they have ALL of the colors on display at their new store [insert giggle here]!  That was sooooooo awesome drooling over all the colors!!

Once we finished there, we were getting pretty hungry, so we headed to my favorite restaurant EVAH, Rafferty's!  OH MY, their house salad is to die for and I had the prime rib with Au Jus!  OH MY GOSH, and I even added some Garlic Mashed potatoes! YUM!  We were going to have the cheesecake, but I just couldn't do it!  Scott had to finish my steak for me!  HA!

After we let our tummies settle, we headed for the mall!  Just Bath and Body Works, that's all we had time for since I spent too much time drooling over those Copics!  LOL!  I HAD to go to Bath & Body Works, you see, because I had a coupon for a free item, albeit a travel size!  I will take anything free!  Well, I ALSO had a 20% coupon off my entire purchase AND they were having a 'Buy 3, get 2 FREE' special, SO I TOTALLY indulged on that!  HEEHEE!  I got two of my favorite Velvet Tuberose Body Washes, another in Black Amethyst, a Black Amethyst Body Spray and a Black Raspberry Body Spray!! OH and my travel size item I got a new 'flavor' White Citrus body spray!!   OH MY GOSH, I forgot to tell you that I even bumped into two of my long time gal pals, Karen Skorge and Kiley Martin!  They were kidless today and decided to head to Evansville, too!!  So, it was great to see them and share my day with them and let my hubby soak in all the glory!  LOL!

Before we left Evansville, Honey, (if you don't know, I NEVER call Scott by his name.  I always call him Honey, or call him Daddy when talking in front of the kids) ....tried talking me into the Pie Company for a gourmet coffee and slice of dessert, but I was still so full so I refrained!  We had a nice hour drive home talking about 'us stuff', like our future plans and the possibility of us getting a larger home if we decide to stay in Jasper for more than five years.  After we got home, I retrieved the mail and had NO BILLS!  AND I got a card from one of my sister-in-laws, Jodi!  That was so supah sweet of her to remember me, especially since her birthday was five days ago and (although I didn't forget her birthday) I failed to send her a card!  I KNOW, I KNOW!  I am a cardmaker that forgets to send cards!

I had 15 minutes to spare before the kids got off the bus and Honey went to get Isaac at the babysitter's, so I checked my email!  Well, it was just full of emails (some forwarded from Facebook) wishing me "Happy Birthday" from friends, design team gals and family!  Even my oldest son, Josh, who's in college told me he loved me!  That made me cry happy tears as he doesn't elaborate too often  how he feels, being of the male-gender and all!

But wow, let me tell you that this is at the top of the charts as far as birthdays go!  I do not know of a happier day!  I feel loved, I feel appreciated, I feel like I did when I dated Scott, and that was the best time of my life!  I don't know what tonight holds for us, but I can't think of a better way of finishing it off than with some crafting!  I have a few orders that HAVE to be done tomorrow, so I will be working on those, and then after that I get to pack!

Tomorrow, we are extending the birthday fun with a 12 hour Crop!  YEP, along with another 8 or so girls, I am headed to a Susan G Komen fundraiser CROP!  There are over $3,000 of prizes to be won!  I am taking my Copics and digis that are printed out on cardstock already and COLORING ALL DAY!!!! WOOHOOOO!

AND as I write this at near half past four o'clock, my honey just told me that my birthday present didn't make it in the mail on time. He KNOWS how much I love Eddie Bauer jeans (they are the only jeans that fit nice on my baby-stretched body!) and he ordered me a gift card using our Visa reward points!  So, now I even have that coming!!!  Seriously!  I am in tears!  I just can't express how blesssed I feel today!

I am the first to admit that my life is NOT like this at all everyday.  Honey and I disagree, of course, and I am by no means a perfect wife, to say the least!  But for him to go and do all of this for me today after some of the stuff I have put him through, not only means so much to me, but amazes me as well!  Thank YOU, HONEY!!!  Well, thanks for letting me share my birthday with you!  I really just had to tell you guys what a wonderful day I have had and hope that this sweetness continues!!  And don't forget that I would love to hear your favorite birthday, too, if you would like to share it!

Hugs!

Such Grace

While sitting by the kitchen window facing my backyard, I saw something out of the corner of my eye. At first I thought I saw some big golden retriever dogs or something... then realized I had FOUR deer in my back yard! They were trying to figure out how to go between my house and the neighbors to get to the hill across the street without being noticed... WELL! TOO LATE!

I ran and got the camera, had to run back and get the memory card out of the laptop and race to the front of the house to see if I had a chance to get a pic or two. This top one is what I got! Then I realized there were only three deer in the pic. I figured the fourth had already made it over the hill. UNTIL... I got back to the kitchen and looked outside again!

So sad, they left behind their friend, here! He's looking around thinking, "is that crazy lady going to take my picture, too? BUT, I have gained so much weight in my hips over the winter months, I just can't bear the thought of her shooting that!" SO, it stayed right there for a while, then sauntered over by the shed and went back into the woods.

No worries, though. Moments later, without camera in hand I saw it headed to meet up with it's friends by jumping OVER the 6 foot fence dividing my property and the city park that is aside it. WOW, such grace! I can't even walk without TRIPPING sometimes, and these animals just glide over 6+ feet in height! AMAZING! Just thought I would share!

(((SORRY for not posting the next WEDNESDAY WINNER! It is COMING UP SOON!!)))

Have a nice day!

I just love TAAZ.COM

Me, as a ROCKSTAR, BABY!

Sunday, February 1

Two more, I just couldn't resist!

WATCH OUT FERRAH FAUCET!! HAHA!

I think this COULD BE ME in 10 years..... Hmm.... a little more sophisticated....

DO YOUR OWN MAKEOVERS at TAAZ.COM!

The FINAL FOUR!

Here's the rest! I figured I would post these before announcing another piece of news after a bit...

I like all of these, my favorites are the first and last. Which one do you think my hubby likes??? Believe it or not, but he likes the second wavy, punk one! However, he did say that I would have to cut the sides short so he can see my ears. For those of you local, you know he has a thing about seeing my ears. (weird!) I think I look a lot like my sister in the last one, this is kind of her hairstyle, chin length and wispy, isn't it cute? I know you all have favored the lighter change in my hair color to blond over the past few months, but still I love me in the bottom in RED! I JUST LIKE THAT!!

I think the third one is a little westerny-farm girl, naturalist, simple, but I would only be able to get that amount of hair if I had hair extensions put in. I seriously have thin hair. This top one is the most believable that I could actually achieve. Thin, flat hair. Yep, that's me! HA!

Check back later for a PAPER-ANNOUNCEMENT!

Long/Short and/or Curly/Straight????

From short and straight to long and curly!! HAHAHAHAWWWWWWWWWWWW!

This TAAZ.COM site is soooo much fun! I do like my blue eyes, I have to say. Having green is fun, though, so I think I will keep'em! HEE! Maybe I should have tried the dread-locks hair design, now that would be a hoot!

Hook me up with your new look if you try it out, it really is so much fun! My hubby likes this top one and another shorter one I will show you later today! Gotta go get ready for Superbowl FUN! The cooking begins NOW!

Hold onto your hats, PEOPLE!

Ok, so if my mom isn't totally freaking out right now by how much I look like her High School graduation picture, I would be surprised! My mom's graduation picture was very similar to this top photo of me with dark, long hair. I am waiting for her to call and tell me this!

SOOOOOOO, where did I find the most awesome place to give myself a total makeover??? TAAZ.COM - aren't these hilarious?? I have eight in all that I will share with you... Here's the most laughable in my opinion! This website is TOTALLY FREE! I know that there are some out there that actually charge you, but this one is FREEFREEFREE!

And, believe it or not, but these were done before I even realized that I could change my skin color, foundation, concealer and blush!! How do you like my blue eyes?? I always wondered what I would look like!

OH, and I think this longer blond hair looks like the older Madonna, blond wavy hair that she has. NOT that I look anywhere NEAR like Madonna, of course, but I think the hair is similar! This site is so cool, you can change your eyes, eyeshadow, lips, eyebrows, add horribly thick eyelashes! I didn't use the eyelashes at all, they looked like spider legs.

After you pick yourself up off the floor, tell me which one you like best! MORE coming tomorrow for your laughing pleasure! HAHA! It was so much fun! You should do it and hook me up with your photos of the new YOU!

What's your word?

Your Word is "Fearless"

You see life as your one chance to experience everything, and you just go for it!

You believe the biggest risk is being afraid and missing out on something amazing.

Sometimes your fearlessness means you're daring. You enjoy risky activities.

And sometimes your fearlessness means you're courageous. You're brave enough to do the right thing, even when it's scary.

Wind = Energy

I forgot to post these from my Chicago-trip this past July. If you have never seen a wind turbine in person, look at these pictures that I took while traveling north to Chicago. These are about an hour northwest of Lafayette, Indiana. Aren't they honkin' huge? These weren't moving yet, they were just being built and hadn't been 'turned on' to make energy yet. Guess where the energy is going from these? Believe it or not, PENNSYLVANIA!! No, not Indiana, not Ohio, no where near where they are 'planted' so-to-speak. At least the farmers get rent from the company who owns these. That hopefully will help the shrinking farming community up north!

I have new beads for you to see later! Gotta take some pics! If you like Pink & Black or Teal & Purple, these are perfect for ya!
Check back!

AFTER:

Here's the answer...... More blond! Ok, I am wanting HONEST opinions here! What do you think? Do you like the darker color of hair in my profile or this lighter color? I know what I think, but I want your thoughts first! Leave a comment or email me (addy in profile).

THANKS!

Halloween fun

I just went through some pictures that my dad took of the little ones on Halloween night. Isn't Eli just so handsome as Dale Earnhart Jr. Or is it Earnhardt? Oh well, he's cute! Obviously, KayLee is Ariel the Mermaid and Isaac is a colt, a baby male pony, of course!

I have been wrapping up orders, so I should post something more interesting soon! OH, maybe I will post the new ME tomorrow. I am going blond, unless I chicken-out!
Enjoy your night!

Eli and Isaac's pumpkins.....

How HILARIOUS is the fact that Isaac's smirk is just like that of his pumpkin's?? HA HA!!!! That is just tooooo funny, if you ask me!

I am not too keen on 'scary' Halloween themes, but I do have to admit that Eli's pumpkin is way cool!

Enjoy your evening!

Family Fall Break Friday - 1st Annual!!!!!!!

Today's first annual 'Family Fall Break Friday' was deemed a success! We had entirely too much fun this afternoon carving our pumpkins! Of course, the kids didn't do the actual carving, because that would involve KNIVES! ACK! But, they did get to pick out their design and begin the actual carving by punching the little dots along the stencil's line. Then all you have to do is a dot-to-dot cutting along the dots to get your image.

KayLee picked out this one... which took me nearly two hours to slice and dice. But, boy was it worth it! Isn't this just too cool? I love how the bat looks like it is flying out of the word 'or' and how the 'I' in 'trick' is dotted with a moon. AW!

Back with a few more pictures soon!

Recipe for Niki - HEE HEE

OK... SO, I got to reading the recipe for 'Nicole' and thought... Hmm.... Does that REALLY SOUND LIKE ME???? Sorta, not really, uh.... let's try ' Niki ', which is the name I went by until 1994 when I got divorced and entered the corporate world.

'Niki' just did NOT sound professional, so I went to my given name and have kept it ever since. I DO LOVE the name Nicole. I do feel like a REAL NICOLE now, although my sister and parents are the only ones that call me Niki still to this day. Anyhoo, NIKI's recipe is OMG totally 'ME'!

Have a great weekend! { I may sneak in a post or two if I create something I feel I just have to share since I am alone and don't have KayLee here to 'Oooo and Ahhh' for me! }

My PERSONAL Recipe!

Is this not the most fun thing ever? HA HA! I LOVE MINE! Oh, and all it involves is putting in your first name! Ha Ha!

I am going to be MIA this weekend from the blog. I am on a jewelry-making-extravaganza for the next 48 hours! Dear hubby took the kids out of town to his parents', Josh is at his dad's and has some school functions to attend tonight and tomorrow for Business Professionals of America and I have FOUR, yes, FOUR art shows coming up! YIKERS!

The first one is next weekend, so I need to get a TON done! And, of course the only way to do that is to AVOID THE PHONE and COMPUTER!!!!!!! So, either leave a message and I will call you back, or email me and I will either get back to you late at night or early the next morning. I am going to check email before I go to bed and that is it! (Well, if I can control myself, that is! HA HA!)

Have a SUPER WEEKEND and let me know the results of YOUR RECIPE!! My kids' were right on, except for Josh. So, I used Joshua and then it did sound like him, although I question the whipped cream part! ;o)
