A True Friend!

HAPPY MONDAY!

I thought I would create a card that is more similar to the cards I used to create when I first began card-making years ago!  If you know me, you know how I am a huge fan of SENTIMENTS!!  And when you think of digi companies, you always think of images of cute little creatures, children and things of the sort that you color in...  Well, we tend to forget that Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has a wonderful line of SENTIMENT digis!!  These are awesome because you can keep them small to coordinate with another image, or you can enlarge them (like above) to make them your focal image!!

I used a sentiment from the 'A TRUE FRIEND' sentiment set on my card and adorned it with a array of paper flowers by Prima, lime green pearls by Kaiser Scrapbook, patterned paper by Basic Grey, Ruby Red paper by Stampin' Up! and ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

It is pretty simple, but doesn't it showcase the sentiment digi??  I LOVE IT!  So, the next time you think 'digi', don't forget about those sentiments that are also available to go with your digi images!  They are available for ALL occasions in tons of different fonts, too!  SHOP HERE to see more!

BLESSINGS ON YOUR DAY!!

What's he reading????

HAPPY SATURDAY!!!!!!  Can you believe that March is almost wrapped up!?  GOSH!  At least it is feeling more like SPRING instead of winter!  I don't know about you, but I am happy to see stamps and papers that look warm and springy with flowers and critters!! Those snowmen were getting to me!  I actually started thinking that one had come alive on my desk a few weeks ago! LOL!!!!!  JUST KIDDING!

I am excited to post today's card because this is my first EVAH Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays challenge card!  This week's challenge is a sketch Challenge:::

This sketch had me stumped with those triple lines and something in EVERY corner.  I am not a very symetrical person, so this was... well... A CHALLENGE!  {Probably why they call it that, huh?!! LOL!!}  My card is using papers by Basic Grey, flowers by Prima, rhinestones from Michael's and a LOVELY image called MUSHROOM MOUSE by MELJEN DESIGNS that you can purchase {HERE} in Melissa's store... Doesn't it make you wonder what he is reading!?  He looks kinda excited! HEEHEE!

Hop on over to the SSDS Challenge BLOG HERE and see all of the creations inspired by this sketch from the Designers!  This week there is also a challenge 'sponsor' and you have a chance to win some freebie images from Sunshine's Stamps if you join in on the sketch challenge!  HOPE YOU DO!!

Enjoy your SPRINGY DAY!!

LAST CALL!

YEP, that's right... this is my LAST CALL for the Sweet Stop Sketch Blog.  This card wraps up my Design Term with Korin's FABULOUS team!  I will sincerely miss being on this team, the gals are just so talented and the uber wonderful NANCY is the sweetest DT coordinator EVAH!  BUT OF COURSE, I can still play along each week, it isn't like I am banned from using their sketches!!  So, I am sure you will still see me support The Sweet Stop often!!

{Thanks KORIN, for asking me to be a part of your team!  I so appreciate you giving me this opportunity to design for you! HUGS!}

ON TO MY CARD!!  I am back to using Basic Grey papers again!  YEA!  I joined up two digi lines for this card.  The FANCY BUTTERFLY {HERE} is by Meljen Designs and the SENTIMENT is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps {HERE}!  I thought they worked well together!  Ribbon is by Martha Stewart, tag punch is by Stampin' UP! and rhinestones are from Kaiser Scrapbook!  I used Copics to color and you can see which ones I used at the end of my post!

I based my card on this week's sketch below:

This is an awesome sketch, one that I am sure I will use again and again!  Korin makes the most fabulous sketches, they are always so balanced and well designed!!  SO, if ya ever need to get that MOJO motivated, think SWEETSTOP!!  Be sure to pop on over to the SWEET STOP HERE and see ALL of the designer's take on this sketch!  There are some beautiful cards again this week!

Again, have a great SPRINGY day!

Friday Sketchers CHALLENGE!

AH, the WEEKEND IS IN SIGHT!!!!!!

Here's a card that I made for FRIDAY SKETCHERS!  I used a Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps image {HERE} and sentiment {HERE} for this week's sketch below:

As you can see, I switched up the sketch.  I wanted to show the floral paper MORE because of the "stitching" drawn on the background.  I thought it would go with the image and sentiment!!   I used Basic Grey's June Bug papers, Prima flowers and rhinestone brads by Making Memories, along with some ribbon from SUP to pull this card together!

I hope you play along with this week's FRIDAY SKETCHERS Challenge BlogSweet 'n Sassy Stamps is sponsoring this week, so be sure to check it out!

ENJOY YOUR DAY!

HAPPY HUMPDAY!!!!!!  There's been a ton of excitement going on lately, so I have been a bit scatterbrained!  My kids are home for Spring Break right now and that doesn't give me a break, as I am sure you can assume!  BUT, finally I am featuring my Whimsie Doodles PCP challenge card for this week!

This week we are to use the sketch below and a Whimsie Doodles image (of course!!!) to inspire us to make a fabuloso card!  Well, I LOVVVVE these new papers I picked up at Hobby Lobby by My Mind's Eye!  Although you can't tell the papers are all embossed with glitter!! They give quite a shimmer! LOVE THAT!

I used this cute BabyBear image and a sentiment on the inside!  You can purchase both of these HERE!  I love digis!  I made this sentiment HUGE to fill up the inside of the card!  I think this makes the card EXTRA special!

Join me over at PaperCraftPlanet HERE at the WhimsieDoodles Forum!  You can chat with the WD fans, design team and even Melyssa, the owner of WhimsieDoodles, herself!

A CARD FOR A CAUSE!!

This adorable stamp set, called PAWS I CARE, features some cutie patootie dogs and cats and hilarious sentiments to go with, and ALL for just $5.00!!  And what makes this challenge even sweeter is that ALL proceeds from the sale of this digi-stamp set will go to a local SPCA!  So, you can feel great that you are helping some animals in need when you purchase the set!!

And what would a challenge be without a PRIZE!?  Just upload your card to the PCP gallery {HERE} using the tag sk032010, for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate from Whimsie Doodles!  The lucky winner will be chosen next Saturday, March. 27th!

Isn't this sketch the best?  I love Korin's sketches at THE SWEET STOP, they are awesome!!  I took this sketch and turned it sideways and then realized that it was totally similar to the sketch we were to use for the PaperCraftPlanet PAWS I CARE challenge!  So I combined the two and VIOLA!  If you play along this week at The Sweet Stop, you will be entered to win a prize!  THREE FREE DIGIS at The Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps STORE HERE!! WOOOHOOO!  I love FREE!!

My Fuzzy Wuzzy SPIN on this card may be hard to find!  NOPE it isn't the furry dog!  It is the scalloped ribbon on the left; it is velvet! The velvet ribbon is by American Crafts, the pawprint ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, the papers are by My Mind's Eye and the pearls are from Kaiser Scrapbook!  The oval punch is by Stampin' Up and I used Copics to color my image.

I am also entering this card over at TOTALLY GORJUSS!  This week's challenge is RIBBON!!! And WELL, HELLO!?  Look at that uber cute pawprint ribbon!  Just begs to be seen, doesn't it!?

Be sure to check out all of the SugarBabies cards inspired by this sketch at the SWEET STOP BLOG HERE!

Through a couple of my Design Team friends, Alicia and Candace, I found a new sketch blog called Unscripted Sketches!  This is a past sketch #44 HERE.  I had colored this really pretty digi by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called WEDDING CAKE, but didn't have a card layout in mind until I saw this one! PERFECT!  Make sure you check out more of wonderful creations using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps images on their Digi Blog HERE!

Rubber Stamps at Whimsie Doodles!

Here's my first of two cards using this new How Sweet RUBBER stamp set available from Whimsie Doodles HERE!!!  The clean white area allowed for a deep navy bow on this clean and simple card!  I nearly forgot what it was like using rubber stamps!  But after using this set, it reminded me of the same HIGH QUALITY of Stampin' UP!'s red rubber stamps!  Excellent, clear, stamping! LOVE THEM!!    My second card will be up on Sunday, so look for that, it is really cute, cute, cute!

I entered this card over at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday!  They have an open challenge this week, so thought this may catch their eye!  I love the contrast of color, the simplicity of the layout and no one can resist a big honkin' bow, right?!!

Today is another Whimsie Doodles Wednesday Challenge at PaperCraftPlanet!  CLICK HERE to chit chat with other Whimsie Doodles fans and also to see the latest challenge!

KayLee's Kitty!

I just had to share a card my daughter made for her friend, Haley, in her class.  KayLee has really shown a natural talent for coloring, too!  I think she loves crayons more than I do!  I had stamped this image a few months back with stazon, I believe, and I gave her my watercolor pencils after showing her how to use them first.

I left her alone and she used the pencils to color in the image and then I went over it with a blender pen!  She really listened to my directions because she used the same dark gray pencil color for the kitty and the pail!  I asked her how she did the two different colors of gray and she said that with the kitty she just colored very lightly!  She got it!  I love how she used two different greens on the pail to make it look like it was shaded and round!  She's been hanging around my desk, I think!

As for the layout, these were some of the scraps that were left over from my card yesterday!  She put them together and I showed her some corner punches to choose from and taught her about using a main color, a secondary color and an accent color.  So, she picked out the blue centers of the flowers and blue swirls in the card to be the accent and chose orange as the lesser of the two colors to be the secondary.

I also taught her about balance and the rule of using '3's' in design.  She placed these flowers herself and chose the light color ribbon to match the paper!  Yep, she's GOOD! HAHA!

KayLee says she wants to be an art teacher some day!  I think she may just be headed in the right direction!

Enjoy your day!

I "WOOF" You!

Happy Monday!  How was your weekend?  Well, I hope your weekend was half as exciting as mine!  I had a wonderful weekend with a surprise 24- hour visit from my son in college!!  He'll be back in 6 days for Spring Break, but it was still nice to have him home!  This one is for him!  After about age 10 it seems that boys don't like to say "I LOVE YOU" anymore!  So, here ya go, Josh, "I WOOF YOU!"!!

This digi and sentiment are from the PUPPY LOVE SET available in the Sweet 'n Sassy Store HERE for a mere $4.00!!  An incredible deal considering you can resize and reuse these images to your heart's content and it leaves room on your shelves for more paper and embellishments! HEE HEE!

To see more creations using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps see their DigiBlog HERE!

See you tomorrow!

These are the Copics I used in creating this card!

Papers are by MME, ribbon is by SUP, rhinestones by Kaiser Scrapbook,

Award and a DT CALL!

One of my cyber-crafty-friends, MEGAN of PICTURE PERFECT CREATIONS, bestowed a blogger award on me earlier this week!  And of course I have to spread the love!  It is so unfair to have to make me choose just seven!  I know so many inspiring artists and crafters, here in blogland!  A certain few do stand out to me, but for different reasons...

Korin has a wonderful, Christian, inspiring blog REJOICING EVERY MOMENT.  She's taking a break right now, but scroll down through past posts, she shares so much about her relationship with Christ AND her family, a really good read!

Kris, my sister, has a great blog AT HOME WITH KRIS, that shares great recipes, sales, and interesting online 'finds'!  She also shares personal and medical issues, which remind us that we all struggle at times!

Melanie, one of my fellow Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps digi Design Team members, has awesome talent using Copic Markers!  Well, you know how I am such a fan of Copics!!  See her blog PAPER BLESSINGS and see her creations, she's ultra Copic-talented!

Sarah Moran is a lampwork artist.  She makes glass beads and WOWSERS, go see her blog Z-BEADS.  I have seen her beads sell up to $100.00 EACH!!!  Yep, I have seen sets of beads (Just beads, NOT in a bracelet to wear!) go for $600.00+!  But, wait until you see them!  THEY ARE AWESOME! The Boro beads are my favorite!

Melyssa, who is the creator of WhimsieDoodles.com, whom I design for, is not just a great illustrator, but a fabulous card maker!  She, herself is on other Design Teams eventhough she has her own digi and rubber stamp line!  Her creations are clean lined, balanced and wonderful embellishment detailing with buttons, twine, lace and ribbon!  And she can use those Copics, too, let me tell ya!  Check out FantastINK and see her talent!

Melissa Jenkins is new to me!  I just found her a few days ago when looking through a freebie digi site.  She is a very talented illustrator of her own digi line, called Meljen's Designs!  She has a sweet line of digi's surrounded with dashes, stitches, bubbles and I just think her style is so fun!  Go check her out and leave her some love!

Kathleen Paneitz is still a favorite of mine!  She's not as published as the paper-crafter-artist she used to be, per her request!  She enjoys photography and gardening more now than just papercrafting, and I am glad she DOES!  Her photos AMAZE ME!!!!!!!!!!!  She has been an idol of mine for a long time since finding her in magazines like PaperCrafts, CardMaker and MORE!  Her creations are so beautifully done and inspire me everytime!  Go peruse her blog, KASEY'S KORNER, you will be glad you did!

OK, so there's my seven for now!  Believe me, there are more I could list!!!!!!!! I think all of my fellow Design Team members are awesome!  There are a ton of gals that I am inspired by every single day!  But for now, these gals will have to give you some inspiration!  I will share more favorites with you another day!!!!!!

As for the SEVEN THINGS ABOUT ME.....

1. I dream to go to Italy some day!
2. I want to learn to lampwork my own handmade beads!
3. A hot air balloon ride better happen before I die!
4. I have always wanted a white Toyota truck with pink trim and pink shock absorbers, etc., (that's the Texan coming out in me!)
5. I LOVE boots!  Again, the Texan....
6. I love anything and everything raspberry!!!!!!!
7. Velvet Tuberose is my favorite scent at Bath & Body Works! If you want to know the way to my heart, it's that! HA!

Thanks, Megan!  I so appreciate this gift of Beautiful Blogger!!!!!

AND, on that note, MEGAN is having a DT call!  She has started her own challenge blog HERE!  If you would like to apply, click HERE to see the details!!

See you tomorrow!!

SSS46 Sweet Stop Challenge

Here's another SUPER Sweet Stop sketch challenge for you to try!!!  I LOVE this layout!  Click on the pic to enlarge and see the details!!

The card came together so swiftly, so that makes it SPECIAL to me!  If you don't know already, it takes me FOREVAH to make a card from the beginning to the end! LOL!  But this card didn't, so that means it is a SUPER sketch to me!!

I used a Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps image called Benjamin Bunny that can be found HERE in their store for just $3.00 and the sentiment is also by SNSS and can be found in this Melody of Love set HERE that includes a gorgeous image of a violin and five sentiments for just $5.00!

{See MY CARD using the Melody of Love image in an earlier post HERE!}

If you haven't heard, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps went ALL digital, but is still cleaning house of all of the remaining clear stamps it has in stock at AMAZING prices!  So, be sure to see the steals HERE, everything is at 50% off, I THINK!!

DEETS on my card above: My papers are yet AGAIN by one of my new My Mind's Eye paper stacks that I got at Hobby Lobby last week!  I hope you don't get sick of seeing these because they really are my favorite papers right now!  I think it has to do with all of the glitter and shimmer!  You know how I love my BLING!  Even , SHOCK SHOCK, Basic Grey papers have taken a back seat! I KNOW!!!!  I am shocked, too!  I will get back to those, don't worry! The mini scallop border is by EK Success, the ribbon is by Stampin' UP and the rhinestone bling is by Basic Grey!  The circles and label diecuts are by Spellbinder's nestibilities, of course!!

Be sure to join in on the SWEET STOP CHALLENGE this week!  I would love to see what you come up with!

These are the Copics I used in creating this card!

Hope your weekend is AWESOME!

CHUGS & KISSES

It's FRIDAY! YAY!

And do you know what
is even better than that?

A NEW RELEASE of
digital and rubber stamps
by

There are some really cute 'BABY' bears and also some fun St. Patrick's Day images in the STORE HERE!  Be sure to check out the pot of gold with a rainbow!  I used this Chugs & Kisses image HERE to make it look like mugs of green beer!  I tried to keep it on the masculine side by using black and staying away from the ribbon stash, but then added a mini-scallop and then had this crushed glass glitter in the perfect shade of green!  Well, It ended up not THAT masculine I guess! HA!

With the crushed glass on this one and the sparkly glitter embossed MME paper {CLICK on the picture to enlarge and look in the top left corner!  This photo doesn't do the paper justice!! HA!}, I also submitted this to the Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays challenge blog!  I just love a challenge site you know!!  Check them out, they have had some great challenges!  I am just sorry I haven't found them before a few days ago!

Be sure to check out the Whimsie Doodles BLOG HERE and all of the Doodlelicious Designers blogs (in my left column) to see more creations using the new stamps and digi images!  OH, and there's even a rubber-mounted set of stamps, too, that is 'BERRY' FUN!!  Go check all of the new stuff below and shop HERE to go get your Whimsie Doodles!!!

The Copics above were used in creating this card!

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Howdy!
