Color Challenge!

Howdy Peeps!  WOW, it's the last Monday of summer for us here in the Anderson house!!  YEPPERS, my kids start school this Friday!  Josh left last Wednesday to head back up to college and Eli, KayLee and even my Isaac will be in school at the end of the week!  Isaac will be in afternoon kindergarten, so at least I have a little extra time with him over the next school-year!  But, still, I have to remind myself to 'laugh' and not 'cry' when Friday comes around.  So, I may just send this card to myself! LOL!
I used this week's color combo at Picture Perfect Creations to inspire me!  It does look like a happy card with the alternating rhinestones and that ribbon work, right?  Papers are by Die Cuts with a View and the stamp is by Stampin' Up!.  I am including this week's technique challenge at Splitcoast to use ribbon without a bow or knot, as well!  FUN!  Be sure to join in on the challenge at Picture Perfect Creations, you may just win this week's prize!!  Go check out the details HERE!!

Come back later
to hear about my
blog candy giveaway!!

PPC24 and a Scrappy card!

HAPPY MONDAY!  (ok, does my late afternoon post tell you HOW HAPPY my Monday has been? LOL!!)

Today's card is inspired by the AWESOME color challenge at Picture Perfect Creations!  Megan sure does know how to challenge me!  This card sketch/style was inspired by my friend, Bev Himsel.  She shared a card with me using scraps similar to this one, so I thought I would find some papers in the challenge colors and put my own spin on it.  Isn't it cute?

I thought this would only take me a half-hour to make... uh, no.  It took me like 2 hours!  I am so anal!!!!  YEP, I said it!  I am so anal!!!!!  I had to have just the right colors, just the right pattern, just the right width, just the right length, etc.......... OH MY GOSH, it seems like I can never make anything SIMPLE! UGH!

POP on over to PPC and take a looksie at all of the challenge cards by the Design Team using this combo!  AND don't forget to play yourself!  There's always a prize involved!!

See you tomorrow!!

June's Rose

Since I have misplaced my camera and couldn't share my Picture Perfect Creations card today, I thought I would fill the gap with this card that I made last week for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' Blog Hop Release Night!  I used the June Rose CLEAR STAMP HERE to make this card for my friend's daughter, Jordan, who was in an ATV accident.  The sentiment comes from the Poppies and Greetings CLEAR STAMP SET HERE.

I used copics for coloring and some Kaiser pearls to add a delicate touch around the sentiment.  Hopefully I will be back tomorrow with another creation, gotta pick up a new camera!

ENJOY YOUR DAY!

Blushing Olives and Chocolate Chips!

How's that for a title?? HA!

It 'sort of' describes this week's Color Challenge at Picture Perfect Creations anyways!  I used this same color-combo in yesterday's post, too, I LOVED it that much!  I also decided to make myself an ankle bracelet for the summer, too!  You can't wear flip flops and sandles and not make them look UBER cute with an anklet and nice pedicure, right??

Above, I used 6mm round and 4mm bicone Swarovski crystals and sterling silver beads to make this anklet.  The blush color could go peach or pink depending upon what I am wearing.  Of course the dark brown is a neutral, and to me, so is the green.  Green, in this olive color, will give any outfit a nice accent!!

Here's my card from yesterday... see the details in this post HERE!

Be sure to POP on over to the PPC Challenge blog and see all of the gorgeous creations by the deliciously talented DESIGN TEAM {HERE}!!  There's also a prize to be won each week, so don't miss out!

SUPER DAD!

Good Morning!  Today marks my official countdown to summer!  Just 10, YES TEN!!, more school days until the kids are out of school and the sleeping in can commence! HAHA!  That's actually not true, as I still plan to get up before everyone else to get a quick work out accomplished, but at least the kids will be able to sleep in and get some extra sleep!  BOY are they grouchy in the morning!!

ANYHOOO!!!  Here's my card for your viewing pleasure! ;o)  I used this week's new Picture Perfect Creations color combo #13 for my card!  When I first saw these I immediately figured I would make a masculine card and knew EXACTLY which digis would be perfect for this!  HAHA, these SUPER DAD DIGIS HERE  and HERE by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps are ideal for this color combo!  The green galore is so cute for this super hero's outfit!!

I used plain cardstock for my card and used versamark ink to make a watermark of some stars on the gable green cardstock.  I didn't want to add too much, being a masculine card and all, ribbon and glitter wouldn't have probably suited my hubby, but the black Kaiser pearls look okay, don't you think?  Well, I hope you join us over at Picture Perfect Creations!  There's always a prize to be won each week, so I hope you face this challenge and try to win some goodies!

GOOD LUCK!

RAGGY PUPPY Color Challenge

GOOD MORNING!!

and

HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY
to Josh!

Yes, I am feeling a bit old today.  I officially have a child in their 20's! AGK!!  I think this is where it starts downhill! LOL!  Yesterday was KayLee's 7th birthday, guess I could have posted something about it, huh?  Mother's Day was crazy busy with celebrating both events yesterday and of course today is crazier!  I still need to make cookies for KayLee's class today and also a cheesecake for Josh, too!  But, before getting to those things, I had to make a card for ya!

Today's card is using the new color challenge at PICTURE PERFECT CREATIONS!!  Challenge 12 is to use Bravo Burgundy, Sage Shadow, Perfectly Plum and Soft Suede.  Well, I did pretty good with three out of the four, but bringing in that plum just didn't work!  I LOVE the color combo, but just couldn't pull it together!  SO, when all else fails, ADD BLING! LOL!

My RAGGY PUPPY image is by Meljen's Designs that you can see HERE in the store and the sentiment is from Whimsie Doodles and is a RUBBER stamp you can see HERE.  The patterned paper is from Die Cuts with a View (Linen Closet line).  I used a Stampin' UP! stamp to add in the burgundy hearts and SUP ribbon in the Soft Suede, you know I have to have RIBBON in my cards!

Be sure to check out ALL of the designers creations using this color combo on the main PPC Challenge Blog HERE!  And be sure to join in for a chance to win this week's prize, too!!

Vanilla Gray Bays

HAPPY MONDAY!!  What did YOU do this weekend??  ME?  I did laundry, made some cards, laundry, cleaned the kitchen, laundry, cleaned the bath, laundry... do you see a pattern here? HAHA!  Really it wasn't all that bad and I always feel a sense of accomplishment when seeing things all cleaned up and put away!  BUT man, it sure does put a dent in the crafting time!

ANYHOO!!!!!!!  TODAY is the reveal of Challenge #11 at Picture Perfect Creations!!  Color challenge #11 is to use Bermuda Bay, Going Gray and Vanilla!  I used a PUUUUURRRRRRFECT Friend Kitty image from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps {HERE} for my card with some papers by My Mind's Eye along with the Stampin' UP! cardstock in the challenge colors.  I added just a slim knot of Very Vanilla satin ribbon underneath a punched sentiment that comes with the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps kitty!

Here's a close up of the glittery paper behind the Purrrfect kitty that was colored with Copic Markers!  Be sure to check out this week's PRIZE and all of the lovely creations using the challenge colors below by hopping over to the Picture Perfect Creations blog HERE!

CAS Arbor Day Challenge

HOWDY y'all!  Another sinus headache/migraine had me back in bed yesterday, so I am sorry for not posting another card after Eli's toothless DEBUT below!  Wasn't that cute!?  OH, and before I forget, I will post a pic of my Pepsi soon, too, I have had a few requests for her and since she's ONE now and full grown I guess she should be shown off, too!

Today is ARBOR Day and in honor of that WHIMIE DOODLES is hosting an Arbor Day Tree-Challenge over at PaperCraftPlanet {HERE}!  I used this cute owl image called OWL MY HEART from the Whimsie Doodles STORE HERE for my card.  I used this scrapbook paper by Die Cuts with a View (SongBird set) to place my owl in the tree.  I KNOW what you are thinking.... TONS of empty space, right?? WELLLLL, I am trying to simplify a few cards here and there.  Not everyone loves layers upon layers as I do, so feel maybe I will try to incorporate some more CAS (clean and simple) cards for those followers who like this style!

This card could almost be considered appropriate for the Picture Perfect Creations challenge this week.  My green is a bit darker than the CELERY they are requesting us to use, but still, it's close!  To see more info about this challenge CLICK HERE!

I hope you join us over at PaperCraftPlanet this week!

Enjoy your day!

Remember Raggedy Ann!?

Doesn't this image by Meljen's Designs remind you of Raggedy Ann??  I LOVED Raggedy Ann and Andy as a child, so as soon as I found out I was having a girl, I made sure I looked for these dolls for her room!  She has two sets of them AND they are handmade, so they are very special to us!  Check out MELJEN'S DESIGNS boy and girl dolls and other new digis {HERE} that were just released on Thursday, they are too cute!

Today's card is inspired by this week's color challenge at PICTURE PERFECT CREATIONS!  Challenge #10 is AWESOME!  I think I am going to leave out these colors for my next card, too!  LOVE the boldness of the red and yellow and the compliments of the celery and blue, too!  Beautiful!!

I also was inspired by this sketch below by STAMPING 411 challenge blog!  I have known of this sketch blog for awhile and HAD (NOTICE the PAST-TENSE!) this in my Challenge Blog BLOG ROLL, but I lost it when I switched my blog url back in February.  However, a new follower SELENE brought me to it!  AND I just love her CARD HERE, it is so crisp and clean and to see Christmas again was actually refreshing!!!  So, leave her a HELLO and check out her beautiful first Christmas card of the year, if you have time AND join in on the sketch, too!!

PPC #8 and a Happy Birthday WISH!

HAPPY MONDAY, Everyone!!!!

AND

A HAPPY 8th BIRTHDAY
TO
MY ELI!!!!!

I probably should have used LESS PINK and quite possibly CUPCAKE TURTLE today instead of this cute THANKFUL TURTLE by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, but I just loved this image and still could give it to Eli today for his birthday!  He's such a super kid and takes everything all in stride.  You see, he's just 3' 10" and 42 lbs or so, quite small for his 8 year age (actually, the smallest in his grade).  But, I am thankful to him for the fact that he doesn't let kids teasing bother him.  He KNOWS he is powerful, eventhough he is a bit smaller than the rest!  HE IS AN AWESOME BOY!!

This is Eli on the right with his tooth barely hanging in there at top! LOL!  KayLee will be 7 on Mother's Day and Isaac just turned five last Wednesday... I guess you can see I have little kids, but aren't they the cutest??

I used this week's COLOR CHALLENGE at Picture Perfect Creations AND this week's Sketch Challenge from the SWEET STOP Sketch Blog {HERE} for my card today!!  WOW, what a shocker of a card, am I right?? That Melon Mambo IS eye-catching!! LOVE IT!  If you play along with this color challenge HERE, you will be entered to win this week's prize, as follows:

12 - 6x6 Raspberry Tart DSP (double-sided, SU Retired)

10 - 6x6 Sheets of Real Red,
Rose Red,
Cameo Coral,
Pretty in Pink,
Kiwi Kiss (SU Retired) (2 of each color)

1 yard - 3/8" Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon (SU Retired)

1 yard - 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon

HOP on over to see all of the GORGEOUS creations that the BRAND NEW design team whipped up for your inspiration at the Picture Perfect Creations Challenge BLOG, you will just want to run to your craft space and join in on the challenge, I AM SURE!!!

ENJOY YOUR DAY!

These are the Copics I used in creating this card!
And this is the Sketch that inspired my card today!

Howdy!
