Whimsie Doodles DEBUT DAY!

HAPPY DEBUT DAY!!!

Today is another debut day at WHIMSIE DOODLES!  Here are two cards featuring the newly released LUSH and SNOW CAROLLERS!  These images are just so sweet!  Don't you just love my DIRTY MARTINI there?  I used the Basic Grey Lime Rickey papers for this one!  Doesn't it look like fireworks and so festive?  Love this paper set!  My SNOW CAROLLERS card is using the WASSAIL papers by Basic Grey.  These are just so beautiful!  I was thinking about glittering up these snowflakes but thought it might distract from the image; so I decided against it.  I still think it ended up pretty!  AND, you know how I love my bling!  LOL!  I am using some CARD PATTERNS sketches for these.  Be sure to check them out when you need some help finding that layout MOJO!

Don't forget to check out ALL of the DOODLELICIOUS DESIGNERS, creations using these brand spankin' newly released images!  We have such a talented team!  Be sure not to miss anyone!  Everyone is listed in my blog roll at left!

Have a wonderful day!

Edited to add: I made the TOP 6 at CARD PATTERNS!   SO COOL!

This week's Sweet Stop Challenge SSS34

When I saw the sketch for this week's SWEET STOP SKETCH BLOG there was one of those instant ' I KNOW WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THIS SKETCH! ' moments!  I immediately KNEW the 'x' was going to be a bow!  My card used some major sticky glue dots (those ultra thick kind!) to make it work, but I love it!

The papers are by Basic Grey from the 6x6 pad of Wassail paper set.  Beautiful traditional, almost antique feel of colors and prints, just gorgeous!  I used my large oval punch from SUP, thick grosgrain ribbon I picked up at Big Lots one day and the cutie patootie image and sentiment are from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!  {{The Gingerbread Man you can find HERE in a set that also includes a Gingerbread Woman, too!  And the sentiment comes from a set of FOUR sentiments you can find HERE!}}  Copics for coloring and the circle and floral shaped dies are Spellbinder's nestibilities!  Is there ANYTHING ELSE besides Nestibilities?  I just love those things!

This was a challenging sketch!  Make sure you GO SEE all of the SugarBabies take on SSS34 sketch, they are so creative and inspiring!  Come on and play along, too!  When you join in on the challenges, you are giving yourself a chance to be chosen as next month's guest designer!  Gotta love that, right??

Enjoy your Saturday!

Sweet Stop Challenge Saturday!

Does this card look familiar?  Well, it should!  I just showcased this card last Sunday during Whimsie Doodle's Debut Day!  I was sneaky, though!  I used this week's THE SWEET STOP SKETCH BLOG challenge for these images.  Be sure to click to enlarge and get the details!

Part of the Sketch challenge was to SEW or use STITCHING in some way.  SO, I whipped out the sewing machine and I actually STITCHED on this one, shock shock!  I do enjoy the added texture of the stitching, so I may just have to do this more often!

The paper is by Basic Grey, the Figgy Pudding line and the ovals are nestibilites and the long punch is by SUP.  I Copic colored in Whimsie the turtle and added some eyelets and ribbons up at the right side

Go to the Whimsie Doodles website HERE to purchase and see more items in the gallery!  And be sure to take time out and play along with this week's SWEET STOP SKETCH!  You could just end up being the next monthly guest designer just by playing along!

Josh is home this weekend, so I better run and spend some time with him before he leaves me tomorrow already!!!!!!!  Thanks for dropping in!

Have a Sweet Saturday!

Whimsie Doodles Debut Day

Good Morning!!!!!!!  Today is another lovely WHIMSIE DOODLES DEBUT DAY!!!!  Here I am showcasing just one of the newly released images!  Click on it to enlarge and get the details!  I actually STITCHED on this one, shock shock!  I hardly ever sew on my cards, but think I am going to sew more often, it really added a nice detail.  I actually cropped off part of the Whimsie image in my card, he is actually wearing santa boots with fur to match his hat, so be sure to check out the website to see the entire image, it's really TWEET!

The paper is by Basic Grey, the Figgy Pudding line and the ovals are nestibilites and the long punch is by SUP.  I Copic colored in Whimsie the turtle and added some eyelets and ribbons up at the right.  You HAVE to go HERE and see the Whimsie Doodles BLOG to see a bunch of wonderful other cards and other creations by my fellow Doodlelicious designers!  They have such talent!!  Be sure to check out each of their blogs in my sidebar!

Go to the Whimsie Doodles website HERE to purchase and see more items in the gallery!

Have a wonderful Sunday!!

Mo Manning, Pepsi and Eli

As promised, here is the card that I was talking about in my previous post.  I need a new camera.  If anyone just wants to buy me a new one because they like me that much, email me and I will send you my address!  I want a Canon Rebel, by the way.  LOL!  My camera does not take pictures of the color 'red' well at all!  It either ends up looking like bright orange finger paint or dulls the rest of the picture.  So, this is the best I could do.  Hopefully if you click on the picture, it will enlarge for you to see the details.

I colored grass all around them and then used my exacto knife to give it a 'grassy' scene.  Oh, and this was a real true test of coloring a 'black' something with my Copics.  My dog Pepsi is black, so I had to try to keep it real, but man, getting the highlights is hard, especially if you want to still be able to tell what it is you are coloring!  On Eli, I tried to wash out his denim a bit and gave him some dirty looking shoes and socks, because, honestly, that is how he normally is!  ANYHOO, I hope you enjoyed my card......
You can see the picture links on the previous post.

Oh!  I nearly forgot, I showed this to Eli this morning and he said he wants to give it to Pepsi for Christmas!  AW!!  I told him that we would take some pictures of them together and then put them inside the card and then get the card a frame.  A sorta-keepsake!  He liked that idea, he's such a softy!

I am off to work on more DT stuff and hopefully get the laundry all put away, that is a feat within itself!

Have a great day!

Noses 4 Sale!

Good Monday Morning, Everyone!  My weekend was less than eventful, unless you want to take into account all the creativity that was seaping out through my pores! LOL!  I had fun playing around in my craft room getting some cards made and also arranging my calendar for the next couple of weeks before Thanksgiving!  That's right, just a couple more weeks!  Can you believe it?  Maybe it IS because I am just "THAT" busy, or maybe it is because I am denial of how much I miss my oldest son at college.... Oh well, at least I am surviving and the days are going swiftly for me instead of crawling until I get to see him next time.  {Which by the way is in 16 days, 7 hours and 34 minutes or something like that, but who's counting, right??}

SO, on to my SnowLady!  Isn't this hilarious?  She's selling 'NOSES"?? HAHAHA!  I just giggled when I saw this image, so funny!  She's available from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps HERE and is also a part of their Paper Craft Planet Challenge #5 beginning today!  This week's challenge is to use a snowlady or snowman in your card or other crafty creation!  So I hope you take time out for yourself and play along!  CLICK HERE for details!

About my card, this card is using some old My Mind's Eye papers, a Martha Stewart border punch, some eyelets and ribbon I picked up here or there (forever ago) and the image is colored in using my trusty ol' Copic markers.  I love those things.  I still think that the almost 175 that I have are still NOT enough, and since I have some open slots in my Copic pen holders, I just may need to place an order soon!  HAHAHA!

Many blessings on your day today!

Rachelle Anne Miller

It has recently come to my attention that I rarely "STAMP" anymore!  I mean, I do create cards, but I hardly EVAH use actual stamps!!  Trust me, there are positive reasons for this... because I love the versatility of digital stamps, to enlarge them, shrink them, and the storage (in your computer) can't be beat!  Not to mention that I love being a Doodlelicious Designer for Whimsie Doodles and I love being a guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' DIGI BLOG this month, too!

HOWEVER, I have really been neglecting my shelves upon shelves of rubber and clear stamps!  SO, from now on, I am going to take at least ONE DAY a week to create something with one of the many stamp sets I haven't even used yet!  HAHA!  Should take me two years to get through them all probably, LOL!!!

I have used this image before, by Rachelle Anne Miller, but I forgot to take a picture of it before I sent it out!  So, I decided to take some time out for myself today and have some creative fun for me!  I love Rachelle's images, she has a neat flair for adding these little stars, dashes, twinkles and dots.  SO FUN!

I made this card for a family member who is expecting... the first one who POPS gets it.  I say that because I have FOUR people in my extended family that are preggers!  HAHA!  About my card, in case you were wondering... Papers are by FancyPants, I used Brilliance Graphite Black for stamping the kitty, and used Copics to color in.  I used Kaiser rhinestones and SUP's silver hardware piece with some ribbon I bought at Big Lots or somewhere!  Oh, and of course Spellbinder's Nestibilities for the large scallop flower and circle that the kitty is on!

Here's the detail on Rachelle's cutie patootie image, called Peek-A-Boo.  Isn't she talented?  What gets me is that the stamp actually gets the itty bittiest of dots and dashes!  Such attention to detail; and you know what I always say: "Love is in the details!"  Click on the pictures to enlarge, at least I THINK they are supposed to enlarge, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.... haven't figured out the reasons for the differences of that yet!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Whimsie Doodles Sketch Challenge

Whimsie Doodles is holding their August SKETCH CHALLENGE beginning today! Go to the Whimsie Doodles BLOG HERE and see the sketch and details on how to enter! I used some Basic Grey patterned paper that actually fit the sketch, believe it or not!

I was lucky to have found this paper so I could save some time so I could finish getting ready to take Josh to college on Tuesday! LOL! I used a Whimsie Doodles past image HERE with a new sentiment found in this digi set HERE. I love how you can just re-use and re-size digital images! SO SO SO Versatile!!

I know I keep repeating myself, but honestly, I never really gave digital images a chance! UNTIL, that is when, I found Melyssa's ADORABLEEEEEE turtles, bears, fish and other images! She is so creative and I love her style! Being able to mix older images with new release ones is FABULOUS; just another reason to go digital!!

I added some stickles to the flower centers and paper pierced the scallop at the side. The turtle and sentiment are Copic colored (of course!) and I used a nestibilities die for the scallop circle.

Make sure you play along by next Friday to win these digital images below OR ANY TWO OF YOUR CHOICE!! How's that for a PRIZE??

I hope you play along with this month's WHIMSIE Sketch Challenge!

See y'all soon!

"Heard you Lost a Tooth!"

That's what it says on the inside of this card! IF I wasn't still confined to crutches I would just pop on up, run over, take a pic of the inside of this card and upload it for ya. Well, MAYBE tomorrow! HAHA! My days of popping up and running around aren't gonna happen for a while! I will edit this post and add an inside picture as soon as I can get to it, though, so check back! These darn crutches are the WORST!

This card incorporates Stampin' UP! papers, Copic Coloring, Dew Drops in the corner that are available at PRECIOUS SCRAPS, a WHIMSIE DOODLES digi focal image and this week's MOJO Monday sketch challenge #99, I think it is!

I love Whimsie Doodles girly images! Melyssa really has a way of making her girls SO sweet looking! What do you think about this ToothFairy? AW! I think she is CUTE!! You can see her HERE in the Whimsie Doodles STORE! There's also a ToothFairy BOY that I have colored and ready to make into a card, so I will get to that soon!

These Whimsie images are available now and what I really love about them is that Melyssa doesn't forget that there are scrapbookers out there like yourself that would just love these images for scrapbooking pictures of your kids' first lost tooth! She includes other sentiments along with these images, that are PERFECT for scrapbooking! OH, and, why stop there? She even includes a wonderful little poem that you come with the boy and girl Toothfairies so you could incorporate them into a little altered envelope or box for the REAL Toothfairy to find!! She's ingenious!

There will be more images coming up, especially on Saturday when WHIMSIE DOODLES debuts another whole batch of digi's for your cardmaking and scrapbooking fun!

Happy HUMP DAY!

Friday, July 10

Are you having a FINTASTIC day?

WOW, can it really be THURSDAY? We are almost there, people! The weekend is in SIGHT! LOL!

Do ya like my purty fish? These Koi Fish by WHIMSIE DOODLES are so fun to color with my trusty little COPICS!! I turned this digi image to the left so they aren't swimming upstream anymore, but doing this left me a void in the oval, just perfect for a sentiment! I filled in the white cardstock with my Copic markers to give it that watery look. I used a hue darker to give it some dimension on the outside edge of the oval. I did the same thing on the sentiment box. I felt that leaving it white would have made the rectangle too stark.

{note: papers are by MME, Dreamy 2 line available at Precious Scraps! Just email Bev and she will set you up! Flowers are by Prima, Inc and the ovals and scallop oval are by Spellbinders/nestibilities, OF COURSE!!}

Click on the pic for details! And see the WHIMSIE DOODLES STORE for their current available digis! There will be a new release next Wednesday, too! And just WAIT until you see those! They are supah sweet!! Most images {each with a sentiment} are just $2.50 (sets are $5.00), which is a steal considering you can change the size of the image to whatever you need, from small for making a card to frame-size at 8x10!!

I do hope you ARE having
a
FINTASTIC DAY!

New Copic Color Chart

Marianne Walker, who works for THE Copic Marker company, put out a color chart for those of us who use Copic Markers. NOW, please see HER ORIGINAL CHART on HER BLOG I LIKE MARKERS; I cropped it so I could get all of the boxes on one page which gives me larger squares. Make sure you print this out on your white cardstock that you normally use or plan to use your Copics on. Different cardstocks will show one Copic as different hues of color, depending on the quality of the cardstock. SO, if you are like me, and use three different WHITE cardstocks (SUP, Making Memories, Georgia Pacific), depending on the project you are working on, then print a chart out on EACH of the white cardstocks you use and then color them in at the same time. This will save time, in the long run!

I have to go take Pepsi to the vet, something happened to her eye!
MAN, the DRAMA this week is just killing me!

I WON AN AWARD!!

WOW, I have been bestowed this award (scroll down to see it) from Marianne Walker!! She has a fabulous blog that shows us COPIC MARKER fans how to use our markers in different ways, and in general, to get the best results we can!

Apparently, Marianne (who, I should mention, is employed by COPIC) has been given a ton of 'Blog Awards' in the past that she needed to pass along... well, instead, she designed, created and used her Copics to fashion up this NEW AWARD for her 'Best Commentators'! AND she chose me as one!! WOW, so flattered!

{{AND isn't this award she created just the CUTEST?? Maybe that is why she and a couple of gals got together to create their very own stamp-line, OUR CRAFT LOUNGE!}}

So, to be able to say that I have been awarded with this award from the person who created it, really is soooooooo cool!! So, now I have to forward it on to my best commentators! I love all of the feedback that everyone gives me! So, if your name isn't listed here, don't get upset! I do appreciate ALL of the comments each and every one! But there are some special peeps out there that just make me feel so special! SO! With that being said, check out the following:

1. 2 Guys A girl and a lab - my good friend Amy has a great blog about friends, family and faith - I just wish she would post some of her paper creations and scrapbook pages!! We have sons the same age so we relate to each other very well; and she's always leaving the most encouraging comments for me to read!

2. Robbi - my Canadian Friend, who will eventually get a blog up and running (HINT HINT, no pressure though!!) to show off her fabulous creations always leaves such kind comments! She is also a great friend who supports me often with uplifting advice AND the most hilarious emails ever!! xoxo!!

3. Kathleen Paneitz - she is a wonderful artist (published in tons of mags, too!) and a cyber friend that I have gotten to know over the past year or so. She is so inspiring to me in so many ways! She has a fabulous garden that I envy, she has such a keen eye with her camera it will shock you, and she of course is one of my favorite paper-crafters EVAH! I love getting comments from Kathleen because I admire her talent so very much!!

4. My Crafty World - Tiffany is a local friend and a true blogger, always supporting me with steady comments mostly each day. She is a SUP! demo and has a great blog with not only cards, but scrapbook layouts and other projects, as well! She is a faithful jewelry/gift supporter of mine as well, so I appreciate her bunches!

5. Scrap Happy! - Kelly is a lonnnnnnng-time friend of mine, known that chick FOREVAH!! She is an amazing scrapbooker!! Don't get me wrong, her cards are great, too, but her flair with the 12 x 12's is AMAZING!!!!! Kelly's commenting has slacked off a bit since she has picked up more working hours, but when she does leave a comment, I get a big head!

Now, if you want to forward it, just snag the award and post it on your own blog! OH, and I will break a rule and say that any commentator on my blog can forward it, so we call all feel the love!

Thanks to all of those who take time out to comment!
And "THANKS AGAIN" to Marianne for this award! I appreciate it!!

NEW High Quality Cardstock at GINA K!

One of my favorite artists posted a comparison of two white cardstocks using COPICS on them. Check out Jody Morrow's blog to see the tutorial and also see where to find the new GINA K cardstock. It is 120lb and smooth and she noted that the COPIC didn't bleed through to the backside of the paper, which I know may be a pet peeve with some of you peeps out there (Ferah, Robbi, Cindee!)!

I just thought I would let you know about it! Jody is soooooooo talented and makes the best cards EVAH so be sure to check out her blog while you are there, too!

Gotta go take KayLee to the doctor, she's home sick with strep, I think! Later! ETA: KayLee doesn't have strep, just a typical cold! We are going to enjoy the rest of the day together while Isaac is at PreSchool! YEA!

Howdy!
