We're gonna party, like it's my birthday - NOT!

Sorry for the late post today! I was running errands this morning and then my kiddos had a half-day of school today, releasing at 12:30pm so things got crazy this afternoon! Then KayLee had dance at 5pm, Eli had wrestling at 6pm and Scott took Isaac with him to a church dinner. All this on what is supposed to be one of "those days" that you are allowed to relax! NOT!!!!!! HAHA! Oh, well, it really IS just 'another day', after all!

WEDNESDAY WINNER NOW CLOSED

Entries have been typed out! And are ready to print and slice!
I will have Isaac draw again and post this week's winner ASAP!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR EVERYONE'S BIRTHDAY WISHES!!

BACK SOON!

1,001st POST!!

WOW! How appropriate that today is the big draw for the necklace!! Not only can it be for my birthday celebration, but I just recently went over 30,000 hits and just noticed that this is my 1,001st POST! WOW! I am closing the drawing in just a little bit, so get your comment in there now!

Here's today's sketch challenge at SCS! I am still seriously IN LOVE with Baja Breeze! I am going to purchase 10 ink refills and 10 packages of cardstock and 10 packages of this paper set when they retire it in July! I love this Parisian Breeze Specialty textured paper set! IT IS AWESOME!!! There are other colors in this paper-set, but I wanted to keep this toned down for a change. THEN I realized my sentiment wouldn't show up! HAHA! SO, I added a chocolate chip rub-on from last year's Sale-A-Bration and also used a dotted chocolate strip rub-on down either side of the triple-box section. (You may need to click on the picture to see that detail!)

This one took me longer than usual, going down to 1/8th of an inch takes a lot of slicing and dicing! LOL! Thanks for taking a looksie!

Well, what are you waiting for?!! Go comment on today's WEDNESDAY WINNER POST and I will draw in just a bit!

HAPPY HUMP DAY!

Design Team ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

OKIE DOKIE PEEPS, Here's the info you have been waiting for!

I am one of five new design team members for Precious Scraps by Beverly!! Beverly just opened her own scrapbook store in Dover, Tennesse, which is just a few hours from where I live, here in southern Indiana. And, if that isn't enough responsibility, she decided to add two lines of design teams!!

I am a member of the Online-Team! She will also be announcing soon the members of her Store-Team!! Don't think that being a member of the Online-Team is going to keep me from visiting her, though! I hope to be able to go and scrap and attend events now and then at her store, too!

I will be working with some fabulous gals you may have heard of... (I KNOW I HAD HEARD OF THEM!) They are: Niki Estes, Tammi Bennett, Marci Knecht and an international designer, Claire Brennan from Ireland! WOW, I am sooooooo excited, can you tell?????

We get our first assignments tomorrow, so be sure to check in soon for our new creations for Beverly!

A sincere THANK YOU to Beverly!
I so appreciate this opportunity to work for you!

Update and Challenge

Did you think I was posting the big news?? Nope, not yet! I am waiting for the announcement on "HER" blog, then I will share with you the details of my new design team position!! I am very excited to be a part of this new team, the 'owner' is awesome!!

So, until then, here's my submission for todays SCS color challenge of Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie and Kiwi Kiss. I FINALLY mounted this stamp set this weekend and was itchin' to use it! These hot colors don't exactly say water, to say the least, but there are so many bright and exotic fish out there, so I decided to make my fish Summer Sun and Pumpkin Pie. I used Kiwi Kiss for the seaweed at bottom. I added a boat image at the top of the card by using the bottom portion of the UFO in the By Air stamp set, works perfect, in my opinion!!

No card is complete without ribbon, so I added some of that and a little eyelet-embellishment and I am done! I think doing these challenges has helped me get faster when making cards! And for that, I am seriously grateful!! Click here to see MY GALLERY with all of my cards to view at once!

Here's the detail shot of the image stamped for the sentiment. I used Soft Sky on the entire stamp and then went over the sentiment with Not Quite Navy craft ink so that it would be really easy to read. Doing this gave the fish a watery-shadow!
Don't forget to comment on the Wednesday Winner! Just one more day until the big draw!!

Enjoy your Tuesday!!

I MADE ANOTHER DESIGN TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO~~~~~~ I made another design team!!! It hasn't been officially announced, but WOOHOO! I am soooooo excited!!!!!!! I will hook you up as soon as I can!!

Check back for the news tomorrow or sooner!

Botz Family Blog Candy

Guess what I got in the mail on Saturday!??? YES!!!!!! My blog candy from Our Craft Lounge!!!! I used it for today's SCS challenge using rubberbands on an acrylic block to make a zig-zag background look. Well, as soon as I saw the sample card by Lynn in St. Louis, I KNEW what I wanted to do with it!

ROBOT TIRE-TRACKS!! HAHAHA!

Did you see the little round smudge under the tire?? Talk about a happy accident! I didn't have any regular thick rubber bands, so I used KayLee's rubber bands for her hair! You know, those itty bitty baby hair rubber bands? Well, KayLee's hair is so fine and when you purchase them you get like 5000 in a box, so we are still going through those from 2004 when she finally had hair!

Well, when I went to stamp the rubber bands they ended up really thin, so I guess when I pressed the block down, I pushed the image of my finger onto the paper. When I saw the results of the platinum heat embossing, I knew it would be PERFECT for the tire's shadow! How about that!?

Click on the pic for details! Now, who's birthday is coming up???? Hmm.... oh yeah, THAT WOULD BE ME!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I will send it to myself! LOL!

Have a MAHVELOUS Monday, DAHLING!!

Saturday, February 21

Happy Birthday, JODI!

My sister-in-law's birthday is today!! YEP, Jodi is 40!! Hard to believe! Jodi's favorite color is purple, so I used SCS's sketch challenge on Wednesday to make her a special card! I hope she likes it. I know she is not too happy about turning 40, so I hope this card is bright and cheery enough for her!

Don't forget to leave a comment on Wednesday's blog candy post below for a chance to win!

Happy Birthday, Jodi! I LOVE YA!

STRIPE SCS Challenge

WOW! Talk about a ton of compliments! I am so flattered!!

That is what I had on this card yesterday at SCS. Funny thing is that it only took me about 35 minutes to make this card! OH, for those newbie readers here, I normally take an hour or MORE to per-fect just ONE card! LOL!!! Maybe I shouldn't try so hard, HAHAHAA!!!

Yesterday's SCS challenge was to use STRIPES! WOW, how easy is that? So, I pulled out this new textured To the Nines Paper Set by SUP! and my new Thoughts and Prayers stamp set (sure to be my next new fave, right up there with Baja Breeze!!) and out came this! I don't know how I managed such a pretty card in such a short amount of time! Must be easier when you have awesome paper and a super cool stamp set coming together!

Aren't you glad it is finally Friday!?

Thursday, February 19

Round Top Box

SplitCoastStampers had a challenge to make this round top box from a template they provided. Of course, I had to put my own twist on it with some special cutting around the flower-petals... I just couldn't CUT THEM OFF you know!! I added the chocolates my hubby gave me for Valentines and VIOLA!! A cute little gift box! Now I just need to go back to the local Chocolate Shop and get more candies to put back in it! LOL!

The paper is from Scenic Route, a stash of paper that I picked up last week at my friends house. LOVE this paper! Feminine but not GIRLY PINK!! The sentiment and chocolate chips are from Oh So Sweet Stampin' UP! stamp set. Does that sentiment ring true to you, too???? HAHA!

Have a DANDY Candy of a DAY!!

Lovely Blog Award

I have been given a Blog award from Andrea at Crafty Engineering! AW!!! She is just so super sweet AND UBER TALENTED "craft-wise"!! I have just recently gotten to know Andrea and really think she is an outstanding person! All around great gal, giving, too, always trying to help others with her 'Blog Candy for a Cause' and raise awareness for those people who need it!

Thanks, Andrea!

To pass this along... of course I am supposed to give this to some wonderful other bloggers!! Well, I just recently gave out an award last week, so I will pick some different people that I do indeed also admire!

Well, I have to say that one right now, really stands out....
Stamping with Di - OH MY GOSH, she is so totally hilarious! Her witty personality shines through her words, please check her out! I should mention that her creations totally ROCK, too!!

Marianne Walker - I haven't mentioned her lately! For those who love Copic Markers, she is ONE GAL you need to get to know through her blog! She shares her tips AND SECRETS to her divine illustrations! And she now has her own stampline, Our Craft Lounge!

Carolyn King - I still love Cammie, she is one great gal, and a NEWBIE Dirty Dozen!! She has wonderful and inspiring creations nearly everyday on her blog! She is a designer for a couple of stamp companies and is published often in magazines, too!!

Rachelle Anne Miller - OH GEEZZZZZZ, check out this gal's stamps! I seriously am in LOVE with her! She's more artistic than crafty, in my opinion, please look at her illustrations, they seriously are to die for!!

Denise Marzec - AKA Peanutbee, is another great cardmaker! I love the fact that she adds an interior design to her cards. I always stamp my envelopes, but she does the inside, as well as card fronts!! She designs for some stamp companies, as well, so you KNOW she is talented!

There's my Five, I could go on, but seriously the kids are coming off the bus as I type! (I sent Josh to go get them, he's super sweet sometimes.... I wonder if he's wanting something... HAHA!)

Make it a super afternoon!

Sunday, February 15

I WON SOME BLOG CANDY!!

Talk about excited!! I won my first EVER set from Our Craft Lounge!! I think this is such a cute set!! Look at the sentiments, too! 'You make my heart spring'!! and 'Something's Screwy'!!! AW!! AND there's even an 'I'm Sorry'!! AWESOME!! Thanks, OCL!! As soon as I get it in the mail and make something with it, I will post it for your review!!

Hope you all had a nice Sunday. I am well on the upswing from my strep-situation, but still kept myself away from the kids so they don't get re-contaminated again! I honestly can't believe that KayLee didn't get it yet! WOW! She does drink a lot of Vitamin C, so I bet that does help her.

I will check in with you all tomorrow!
Good Night!

Saturday, February 14

Stampin' with Di - OH MY

I just found this blog, STAMPIN' WITH DI.... Not only does she have two blog candies up for grabs, but she is HILARIOUS!! I am so glad to have found her blog! I feel like she would be such a fun person to hang out and scrap with at a retreat! I bet she is just constantly filling rooms with her humor and laughter! Her creations are wonderful, too! Her work is so beautifully detailed and remarkable in every way! I put her in my blogroll, so I can stalk her everyday!!

Hope you had a great Valentine's Day! I am still confined to my room, so all I did was blog hop and play computer games all day... (well, I had to throw in a couple naps here and there, too!) I am getting really good at Mahjong! I am headed to watch a movie with my hubby!

Enjoy the evening!!

Still in bed, but I can laptop!

Good Evening, Peeps! I am still confined to my room so that I don't infect the kids with strep (and/or mono).... BUT, I forgot that I didn't share my Valentine Buckets for my two preschool teachers! I took these Prima Clear Paint Can buckets and filled them with Hershey's Bars and Mini-Tootsie roll pops and topped it with a floral lid! Added some ribbon for softness and love and VIOLA! Instant Gift!

I was going to add a belly band around the middle with some patterned papers, and a Candy Label or something, but when you are sick with strep, you do what you can. I didn't even get to make KayLee's teacher what I wanted to! So, I hope she was okay with her Anderson Arts BookBling made of Swarovski crystals, sterling silver beads and a lampwork bead shaped like a heart. If I can find a picture of it in my stash I will post it for you tomorrow.

Until then, I am headed to bed.... UH, wait a minute, I AM IN BED! OK, so I am going to go get a dvd, pop it in the laptop and watch a movie in bed! HAHA!!

As for me, if you care to know... I do feel somewhat better since I haven't had a fever and chills all day, but my throat is still razor-blade raw and my body still achy. I hope tomorrow morning I will be at least a little better, or it is off to the hospital I GO! UGH, and I don't want that at ALL!

Somewhere over my backyard....

....was this rainbow!! On Wednesday we had severe winds and a nasty storm come through Dubois County. East of Jasper, near Celestine (10 minutes away) they had tornado-like weather! AND even just yesterday on my way to the doctor's office I saw a huge tree totally uprooted and fallen over laying on the ground, just barely missing one house's roof-line by inches!

Well, just after the worst part of the storm went through, I looked out my kitchen window and saw this!!! Isn't it beautiful!? OH, and this is not photo enhanced! I just cropped it short on the left a little bit to make it square. Pretty, HUH?

I am still sick in bed, Isaac is at a friend's house for the day so Scott can go to work. AND this way I can rest and not contaminate him either!!
ENJOY THE DAY!!

Thanks to everyone for participating!! I really enjoyed hearing what everyone was doing for Valentines! Thanks for playing along! (Oh, watch the video of Isaac, he starts with his finger in his ear and ends it with his finger in his ear! HAHA! AND NO, he doesn't have an ear infection!)

Another SCS Color Challenge

This card follows the same sketch as the last post. I made this one for Eli's teacher for Valentine's Day. She was diagnosed with breast cancer a little while back (and is now in remission) so I thought I would bling up her card with some PINK-awareness-inspired crystals!

We are going to give this to her tonight after the Valentine's Day Program along with a Breast Cancer Awareness bracelet made of sterling silver and Rosey-Pink Swarovski Crystals! I hope she likes it!

Don't forget to comment on the Wednesday Winner post to have a chance to win the CellBling!!

Have a wonderful evening!

Color Challenge and BOOK INFO!

My SUPER-Paper-Talented Friend, Kathleen Paneitz, gifted me this wonderful Sketchbook a week ago or so! AND I LOVE IT!!! I came up with this beauty of a card in under 30 minutes, which to those of you who know me well.... that is a RECORD!! Thank YOU, Kathleen! I LOVE THIS BOOK! It gives you one sketch and then like 4-5 fabulous samples on how other creative gals used the sketch... and of course, Kathleen is in it, too!! (SHE ROCKS!)

This sketch is found on Page 4! SO EASY!! Really takes out the grunt work This card is going to be given to one of the kids' teachers for Valentine's Day, along with their gift! I am excited about this one, can you tell?? OH, and the color choices are from today's SCS color challenge to use Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss! Great Combo, so SPRING-LIKE!!

Click on the pic below to see where you can purchase it!! And, don't forget to check out Kathleen's BLOG here, she is very artistic with the camera, her garden and her crafts!

Thank YOU again, Kathleen, You are so generous!

I WON AN AWARD!!

WOW, I have been bestowed this award (scroll down to see it) from Marianne Walker!! She has a fabulous blog that shows us COPIC MARKER fans how to use our markers in different ways, and in general, to get the best results we can!

Apparently, Marianne (who, I should mention, is employed by COPIC) has been given a ton of 'Blog Awards' in the past that she needed to pass along... well, instead, she designed, created and used her Copics to fashion up this NEW AWARD for her 'Best Commentators'! AND she chose me as one!! WOW, so flattered!

{{AND isn't this award she created just the CUTEST?? Maybe that is why she and a couple of gals got together to create their very own stamp-line, OUR CRAFT LOUNGE!}}

So, to be able to say that I have been awarded with this award from the person who created it, really is soooooooo cool!! So, now I have to forward it on to my best commentators! I love all of the feedback that everyone gives me! So, if your name isn't listed here, don't get upset! I do appreciate ALL of the comments each and every one! But there are some special peeps out there that just make me feel so special! SO! With that being said, check out the following:

1. 2 Guys A girl and a lab - my good friend Amy has a great blog about friends, family and faith - I just wish she would post some of her paper creations and scrapbook pages!! We have sons the same age so we relate to each other very well; and she's always leaving the most encouraging comments for me to read!

2. Robbi - my Canadian Friend, who will eventually get a blog up and running (HINT HINT, no pressure though!!) to show off her fabulous creations always leaves such kind comments! She is also a great friend who supports me often with uplifting advice AND the most hilarious emails ever!! xoxo!!

3. Kathleen Paneitz - she is a wonderful artist (published in tons of mags, too!) and a cyber friend that I have gotten to know over the past year or so. She is so inspiring to me in so many ways! She has a fabulous garden that I envy, she has such a keen eye with her camera it will shock you, and she of course is one of my favorite paper-crafters EVAH! I love getting comments from Kathleen because I admire her talent so very much!!

4. My Crafty World - Tiffany is a local friend and a true blogger, always supporting me with steady comments mostly each day. She is a SUP! demo and has a great blog with not only cards, but scrapbook layouts and other projects, as well! She is a faithful jewelry/gift supporter of mine as well, so I appreciate her bunches!

5. Scrap Happy! - Kelly is a lonnnnnnng-time friend of mine, known that chick FOREVAH!! She is an amazing scrapbooker!! Don't get me wrong, her cards are great, too, but her flair with the 12 x 12's is AMAZING!!!!! Kelly's commenting has slacked off a bit since she has picked up more working hours, but when she does leave a comment, I get a big head!

Now, if you want to forward it, just snag the award and post it on your own blog! OH, and I will break a rule and say that any commentator on my blog can forward it, so we call all feel the love!

Thanks to all of those who take time out to comment!
And "THANKS AGAIN" to Marianne for this award! I appreciate it!!

Kids' Valentine Packets

For those of you who visit me on FACEBOOK, you would know that I made over 40 of these suckers yesterday. Took me over 6 hours to get them done. Yeah, I know. The things I do for my kids! HA!

Inside each packet is a personally signed Valentine (Scooby Doo for the boy recipients, Butterflies for the girls) and one of those packets of Lick'em Stix powder. {I am sure their parents are going to appreciate that!} I just took a bunch of my bazzill 12 x 12 textured cardstock and cut them down into 3 pieces of 4" x 9 1/2". Then from one end, I scored at 1 1/2" & 1 3/4" (for the flap) and then again at 6". I glued the sides together, stuck in the goodies and then used a 1/2" Ultra Strength THICK ZOT on the right corner (flap) for a guaranteed closure. I used ZOTS again to stick on the heart (heart image from the SUP! Always set) to hold the left side of the flap down. I then slid the tag under the heart and used another ZOT for awesome adhesive. Four zots for each pack is a lot, but I figured I had had these 250 ZOTS from two years ago, I might as well use them up! MAN, they don't say ULTRA STRENGTH for nothin' either, nearly took my skin off!

These were what the kids got, now I gotta work on the teacher's gifts! Better start today, there's only four days left! AGK!

Don't forget to comment on the WEDNESDAY WINNER!
It is a CellphoneBling!

ME? OVER-embellish!? HA!

Yesterday's SCS challenge was to over embellish.... Well, I am no Kathleen Paneitz or Sherry Wright (THEY know how to embellish-WELL!), but here's what I came up with! HA! My sentiment is sliding to the right... but since I couldn't use my stamp-a-majig, this is the best I could do! You can see the details if you CLICK HERE and check out my SCS gallery. Be sure to click on the picture to see all the lovely details!

HAVE A FABULOUS FRIDAY!

Thursday, February 5

I just love TAAZ.COM

Me, as a ROCKSTAR, BABY!

SCS Color Challenge #2

The second Color Challenge from SCS was to use Lovely Lilac, Tempting Turquoise, Pink Passion and Gable Green! This color combo was a bit easier for me, but, still, I am not a huge fan of the BOLD BRIGHTS in the SUP ink selection, so this was a CHALLENGE!

(probably why they call these 'challenges', right?)

Anyhoo.... this card also incorporates yesterday's SCS Sketch Challenge also. I printed out the sketch they supplied, turned the paper over and looked at it using my desk lamp to see it backwards, I guess. Again, you can see the details of this card in my SCS GALLERY. I used the Love Matters stamp set from SUP! This one is still a favorite of mine... great sentiments and images, both!

Don't forget to leave a comment on the next WEDNESDAY WINNER BLOG CANDY!

Have a great afternoon and evening!

Show Us your Sheetload!!

SheetLoad of Cards is extending these fabulous stamps to TWO winners!! All you have to do, is post a card on your blog that you made using this month's sketch ((MY SKETCH!!!!)), Choose your favorite Unity Stamp set and then leave a link to your stamp choice and your card on THIS POST AT SHEETLOAD!

I wish I could try to win these stamps, but seeing as how I came up with this month's sketch, I doubt it would be fair! HAHA!

I HOPE YOU JOIN IN! I WOULD LOVE TO SEE WHAT YOU ALL DID WITH MY SKETCH!

SCS Color Challenge #1

On Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE at SCS, they gave us TWO! Here's the first one of Creamy Caramel, Cameo Coral and Old Olive. You can see the details of this card in MY GALLERY, if you are interested. I had a hard time with this challenge, that Creamy Caramel is too subdued to go with Cameo Coral and Old Olive, IMO!

Back in a bit with the SECOND SCS COLOR CHALLENGE!!

Wednesday, February 4

WEDNESDAY WINNER for February 11

Here it is! The next Wednesday Winner for February 11th! For you drifters and newbie-bloggers to Anderson Arts... this is a CellBling or BagBling or ScissorBling or ZipperBling! Personally, I think it is a little too fancy to just put on a pair of scissors so that noone accidentally takes your scissors instead of their own (for those scrappers out there), but if you don't have a cellphone with a little loop OR carry a purse OR EVER wear a jacket, I guess you could just put it on your scissors! HAHA!

This Bling is composed of a beautiful, deep orange-red lampwork bead (with swirls of light blue melted-in), sterling silver rope and daisy beads, and sparkley Swarovski Crystals in Indian Red and Light Azore. All strung on sterling silver wires which are then perfectly looped onto a 2 1/2" nylon black lanyard. YUMMY, isn't it??

HOW TO WIN?

a. Leave a comment, any comment (as long as it is not rude or vulger!) on THIS post
and just to make it fun...
b. Tell me what your plan on doing special for that 'significant other' for Valentines Day!
oh, and if you want a SECOND entry:
c. Post a link on your blog to this post on my blog, mentioning my Wednesday Winner!!!

OH, and YES, I do have more of these BLINGS in stock if you are interested in purchasing one for yourself, your mom or a friend! (Valentine's Day ISSSSSS just around the corner, don't forget!) Just email me and I will hook you up!

Thanks for playing along!

Wednesday Winner POSTED!

I keep getting error messages when uploading to YOUTUBE, so believe it or not, I figured out how to take a picture of part of the video! Isaac picked the winner, then went back to rocking back and forth... Yeah, I know, he looks like he is doing something, well, uh, peculiar! HAHA!

Congratulations, TIFFANY BAUER! I will bring it with your blog candy bracelet!

Recessed Window Card

Today's SCS challenge is to use a RECESSED WINDOW in your card. You can find all of the ink and paper and stamp details HERE IN MY GALLERY if you are interested. (Leave a comment, too, I love feedback!) Click on the card picture to enlarge and see the glittery details. I added some snowflake Martha Stewart glitter to the inside of the window and also at the bottom, for some fun!

I was determined to get this card DONE for today's challenge, but since I am rushed for time and have so much to do today, this card is a little more simple than what I am usually 'KNOWN' for. (You 'regulars' know what I mean!)

I thought this card would be appropriate since a week ago today we were on the brink of our winter storm that closed school for 4 entire days, and even resulted in a 2hour delay yet today! SO.... here's to sending you....

WARM WINTER WISHES!!!

Sunday, February 1

Two more, I just couldn't resist!

WATCH OUT FERRAH FAUCET!! HAHA!

I think this COULD BE ME in 10 years..... Hmm.... a little more sophisticated....

February Issue of Sheetload is READY!!

SheetLoad of Cards has their new February Issue ready for download! This month's sketch was designed by, the one and only, ME! Here are my three card submissions in this month's issue. I also have a giftbag inspired by this month's sketch near the back of the issue! The stamp images are by UNITY STAMP COMPANY and I absolutely loved the set that I was asked to use, Gratitude=Joy. It is a wonderful stamp set, very versatile!
If you use this sketch, hook me up so I can check out what you did with it!

To see the paper & embellishment & ink details on my creations, go to SheetLoad of Cards and download this month's issue! It is free! So, why not take a looksie, right??
For those of you who aren't familiar with SheetLoad of Cards and what makes it so special, Sheetload produces a monthly e-zine that gives you EASY to follow directions on how to make a batch of cards all at once, efficiently, both time-wise and money-wise! You waste less paper and supplies and you can crank out a bunch of cards all at once! All you have to do is change the sentiment to give the card a different meaning! The above card is my honey's Valentine card, but I could easily change it to a birthday card by using an appropriate rub-on! I hope you enjoy this month's issue!
Check it out!

Howdy!
